Big Show Says Mayweather Breaking His Nose Was Important, Talks About Shaq Match

Big Show is a sure-fire WWE Hall of Famer when his career is up, and his match with a future boxing Hall of Famer is a reason why.

Despite feuds with Triple H, Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, The Rock and every other major name in wrestling for the last twenty years, Big Show is often closely associated with Floyd Mayweather for their 2008 rivalry and match. A returning Big Show dared Mayweather to get in the ring and punch him, something that proved to be an important part of the storyline. Mayweather broke Big Show's nose.

"It was important for me. My responsibility was to get that angle off the ground. This was boxer versus wrestler, which is a big deal in America. Not to take away from the drama of it, but I didn’t care if he broke my nose or not. I wanted to suspend belief and get our fans emotionally invested. I knew that if he broke my nose, people were going to talk about it. A broken nose will heal, and I got my nose broken by one of the greatest fighters who had ever lived. My nose was fine in two weeks. I’m pretty blessed. I don’t have anything to definitely whine or complain about. I’m very thankful," Big Show told Shanghai Daily.

Show has been long rumored to square off with basketball great Shaquille O'Neal in a marquee WrestleMania match. After years of speculation, it looks like the match could finally happen at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando. According to Big Show, he's more than ready.

"We’ll have one heck of a match and we’ll see what’s up," said Show. "We’ll give the fans a treat.”
