Chris Jericho Says He's Signed A New WWE Contract

Chris Jericho’s current WWE run was potentially looking to be over as he was set to go back to his band Fozzy, but now it looks like Jericho will remain in WWE longer.

Jericho said in the latest episode of his podcast Talk is Jericho that he has recently signed a new WWE contract.

The former WWE Champion is still scheduled to go touring with Fozzy after WrestleMania 33 this year. Fozzy will tour with Welcome to Rockville in Jacksonville, FL during the weekend of April 29-30. They have also been announced for Carolina Rebellion on May 5-7 and Rocklahoma on May 27-29. Fozzy signed a new record deal with Century Media back in October and that they would be recording a new album.

Y2J has been on WWE television for about a year now and has said in The Live Audio Wrestling podcast months ago his current run was only supposed to run for four months. He then kept re-signing throughout the year and this new contract is just the latest in a string of contract renewals.

"My original plan when I came back last January was to stay until WrestleMania, four months," Jericho said. "Then, it started going so good, I re-signed I think until July and then I re-signed until October and then I re-signed until November. Now it's basically a month by month thing."

Jericho, who is enjoying his first run as WWE United States champion, is set to appear in the Royal Rumble match at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view on January 29.
