Conor McGregor Says Conor Jr. Is Motivation For Super Fight

UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor makes his professional boxing in just under two weeks against the legendary Floyd Mayweather.

McGregor is highly motivated as he heads into the fight and he credits that motivation to his son.

“He’s (Conor Jr.) been a great motivation this camp,” McGregor said during his open workout. “I’m in awe of my little boy. I’m in awe of him. Comparing images the other day, and he looks exactly like me. I’m very happy about that.”

The Irishman’s son was born only a few months back and he has already appeared in front of the cameras with his father.

Even though his life has changed a lot due to his success over the years, the fighter wants people to know that he hasn’t changed at all since everything began.

“I haven’t changed since Day 1,” McGregor said. “I’m the same person. I show up to the gym, I work hard, and through my hard work I gain my confidence. That’s been the same since Day 1. What I arrive to the gym in, what I wear to the gym, my home that I go home to, those are things that have changed. They have become nicer. But the fundamentals are still there. I show up, I work hard, and I accomplish through my work.”

Conor McGregor versus Floyd Mayweather takes place on Saturday, August 26 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
