Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino is the current Invicta Fighting Championships Featherweight Champion and a former Strikeforce Women’s Featherweight Champion. She has also had an undefeated streak that has lasted over eleven years and she is undefeated in the UFC. With all of that being said, she will not be competing for the right to be called the first ever UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion. That will go to former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm and Germaine De Randamie, which according to Cyborg, is another reason that she believes that nobody respects her.
“I would like people to respect me like a world champ. Because I am a world champ, but people I think, don’t know that I am,” Cyborg said on ESPN’s Outside The Lines.
UFC President Dana White has stated that Cyborg was offered the opportunity to fight to become the first ever UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion, but she turned down those opportunities due to health concerns, something she addressed again on Outside The Lines.
“I cannot do this to my body all the time,” Cyborg said. “I don’t know, maybe something really bad is going to happen to me.”
UFC 208 takes place on Saturday, February 11 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York with no main event announced at this time.
