Dan Hardy Looking For UFC Return

MMA

Dan Hardy could be heading back to the cage.

A little over six years ago at UFC 111, Dan Hardy challenged then UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre for the gold and nearly four years ago at UFC On Fuel TV V, Hardy defeated Amir Sadollah by decision.

Now, in 2016, Hardy is usually seen sitting behind a desk at Fox Sports or calling UFC Fight Pass events, but he's looking to change all that and return to the octagon.

After that win over Sadollah, Hardy was told he may never fight again after being diagnosed with a heart condition known as Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome. Since that day, while Hardy has been able to train, he has not been medically cleared to step back inside a place he calls home…the octagon.

Hardy recently made his feelings known about coming back to the sport he loves on a recent edition of UFC Tonight on Fox Sports 1.

“I’d very much like to. I have a few fights left on my contract. I need to get cleared by a doctor and I’m in the process of getting cleared. I’d just jump in for some fun fights. I’m a lot lighter than I used to be. I’m closer to walking on the scales at 170. I fought twice at 160 and it was a comfortable weight for me. I was always so much quicker and agile when I was lighter. I think 155 would be better for me now. I’m not interested in belts. I’d like to be challenged and tested by people I look up to” said Hardy.

Fightful.com's own Matt Riddle will comment on Hardy's potential return on his Thursday afternoon podcast.
