Dillon Danis Says MMA Is Conor McGregor’s Passion

UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor will enter the boxing ring against Floyd Mayweather in just a few short months.

While there have been rumors swirling that McGregor could retire after the fight, a longtime training partner doesn’t think that it is going to happen.

“He can do what he wants. He’s the one that they’re all trying to get a fight with, in boxing and in MMA. So he has his options. MMA is his passion so I would think he’d go back to that but he has the option. . . At the end of the day, we’re all competitors. But whatever he wants to do, he has options,” Dillon Danis told TMZ Sports.

Danis himself is preparing for his professional MMA debut, as he signed with Bellator MMA earlier this year.

When it comes to the actual super fight itself, it is quite obvious who Danis is picking to win.

“I don’t think he’ll hang with him, I think he knocks [Mayweather] out. 100 percent. I believe in him. I think it [will be] a little more dragged out [than the Jose Aldo first-round knockout]. Mayweather’s a little bit better at avoiding the shots so I think maybe under six [rounds],” says Danis.

Conor McGregor versus Floyd Mayweather takes place on Saturday, August 26 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
