EXCLUSIVE: UFC Stars Talk Kevin Owens, WrestleMania, Brock Lesnar, More

Patrick Cote has nearly reached the mountain top in the UFC, once challenging Anderson Silva for the UFC Middleweight Championship.

Since then, Cote has moved to welterweight, and found success. During the UFC 210 media day, the French-Canadian fighter told Fightful.com's Brandon Howard that he's quite the fan of another countryman in Kevin Owens. While Cote was busy training during WrestleMania 33, he was happy to hear Owens won.

"(Kevin) Owens won, so I was really happy for him. I met him once. Super nice guy. This guy is from a little, little place. Marieville. It’s close to my place. It’s awesome to see this guy, he was wrestling in the basement of a church, it’s crazy, and now he’s a champion of the biggest organization in the world. That’s amazing,” said Cote

Despite his geographic upbringing, Cote wasn't a fan of The Quebecers, instead going for some WWF mainstays.

“It was the Ultimate Warrior, British Bulldog, I was a big fan of British Bulldog, and Shawn Michaels," he said

While Cote didn't get to check out WrestleMania, Daniel Cormier did.

“It was great. I loved it. It was crazy because I was flying into Buffalo, found out that Delta has Wi-Fi that’s so fast you can stream it now, so I watched it on the plane. I loved the ending. I loved that the Undertaker went last, I loved that the Undertaker actually put (Roman) Reigns over. That’s old school, man. When you’re on your way out, you give it to the next guy. You let him pin you and you let him pin you clean. No funny business, you let him pin you clean. I love the way that guy did business, man," said Cormier.

Cormier also spoke of another former UFC Champion in Brock Lesnar, who defeated Bill Goldberg at WrestleMania 33.

"I was. Because, as I said before, nobody should beat Lesnar. He should be the man that just smashes everyone, because no one can really compete with him, he’s so strong. Well, Kurt Angle, back in the day, but nobody can really go with Lesnar, man. Not there," said Cormier.

Finally, former UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman has to compete for his son's attention, as he's become a WWE fan. Weidman couldn't catch the entire seven hour WWE extravaganza, he did see the majority of the show.

“I did. I watched some of it, I watched the beginning, and then it got late," before admitting he's a fan of Brock Lesnar in the ring. "But it’s because he was a wrestler, like an amateur wrestler. I was never a huge fan of WWE, but I started getting into it because my son’s obsessed with it.”
