Exclusive Update: Matt Riddle Says Submission Underground Match With Jeff Cobb Is Off

Last month, Fightful.com reported exclusively that Matt Riddle and Jeff Cobb would do battle at this month's Submission Underground card on FloGrappling. According to Riddle, that's no longer the case.

On Thursday's Matt Riddle BroCast, Riddle cleared the air on the previously announced matchup. The FloSports shakeup -- which involved a top employee leaving the company -- also had ramifications regarding Riddle.

"Submission Underground match, is not happening," Riddle said. "The person that said the match could happen is no longer there -- wasn't authorized to say yay or nay."

Riddle noted that he's open to competing in Submission Underground in the future, and has spoken with FloSports Execs regarding the situation.

FloSports' Front Row Brian also commented on the matter to Fightful.com, saying "Unfortunately the match was offered to them by someone with no matchmaking authority. It was never happening at any point."

Submission Underground 3 takes place Sunday, January 29 from Portland, Oregon, and can be seen at http://www.flograppling.comFloGrappling.
