When I came up with the idea for Fightful.com, I wanted it to be a true crossover site that covered all combat sports - primarily pro wrestling, mixed martial arts and boxing - because I'm a fan of more than one genre and I knew I wasn't alone. I brought on Vince Russo to be our Wrestling Insider, as well as "Showdown" Joe Ferraro to be our MMA Insider. But I've also been on the hunt for additional personalities that know all combat sports, wrestling included. I'm pleased to announce today that we have agreed to terms with former UFC fighter and current pro wrestler with the Evolve promotion, Matt Riddle to be a weekly guest host on the Fightful.com podcast every Thursday alongside our own Sean Ross Sapp.
Matt is well known in both MMA and pro wrestling circles. He competed on the UFC's "Ultimate Fighter 7" show in 2008 and eventually earned a UFC contract. He went 7-3-2 in the UFC before deciding in 2014 to follow his dreams into professional wrestling. Within a year he had earned a WWE tryout, and he is currently a standout performer with Evolve, plus he recently performed at last weekend's PWG Battle Of Los Angeles.
