I dabbled in the wrestling business going as far back as 1997 when I launched the now-defunct wrestling news and information website called JimmyVan.com; through my years working with independent promotions in the U.S. and Canada; and now coming full circle with Fightful. I’ve amassed a bit of a photo collection through the years and decided to start sharing them via a weekly Flashback Friday feature.
In the early 2000’s when I was still running my old wrestling site JimmyVan.com, I was contacted by a gentleman named Phil Thies who was using the stage name Jonn Reinhart at that time, and who had been known in WWE as one of the recognizable enhancement wrestlers of the 1990’s, Damien Demento. I had been complimentary of Demento, as he had the size, the look and the physique typically reminiscent of someone higher up in the WWE rankings, and I guess he got wind of it. Jonn ended up writing articles for me for a while, and answered fan questions. In this pic, you see him as Demento on the left, and as he appeared when he worked with me; this was an 8x10 he had for acting gigs at the time.
