First Two Fights Set For Bellator 171

This January’s Bellator 171 card has it’s first two bouts set as David Rickels faces Aaron Derrow and Chris Harris faces Jordan Young.

Rickels (17-4-0-2NC) has only won one of his last four fights, that lone win came over Bobby Cooper at Bellator 150. Rickels has also seen two of his last four fights either end or get changed to a no contest, one no contest came against John Alessio due to an illegal knee strike and one came against Melvin Guillard after Guillard failed a drug test.

Derrow (14-8-0) is currently undefeated in Bellator MMA competition, having defeated Nate Jolly at Bellator 130. Derrow will be competing for the first time in over two years, the appearance at Bellator 1330 was the last fight he took.

Harris (7-0-0) has already competed twice under the Belllator MMA banner, defeating Julian Marquez and Matt Foster. Harris has only seen one of his seven fights go to the a decision, that fight was against Julian Marquez at Bellator 150.

Young (5-0-0) will be making his Bellator MMA debut in this fight and he’s a veteran of the Victory Fighting Championships. Young has only seen one of his five professional MMA fight go to a decision, all the other fights ended within the opening round.

Bellator 171 takes place on Friday, January 27 from the Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, Kansas with no main event announced as of yet.
