Floyd Mayweather Speaks On McGregor KO Rumors

Recently, rumors surfaced saying that UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor was knocked out while sparring in preparation for his upcoming super fight this August.

Floyd Mayweather has heard the rumors himself, but he doesn’t believe them unless there is footage for him to see.

“My thing is basically like this, if I ain’t seen no footage, I don’t believe it,” Mayweather told Fight Hype. “And me and Jessie Vargas are in communication.”

McGregor and his team have denied the knockout happened and one other boxer who has been sparring with the UFC Lightweight Champion has denied it happened as well.

Mayweather enters the fight with an undefeated record of 49-0-0 and has rarely been dropped during his lengthy professional boxing career.

The boxing great also wouldn’t mind signing Jessie Vargas back to Mayweather Promotions, as it was Vargas who said that McGregor was knocked out.

“We’ve been talking about working with him, signing him back for Mayweather promotions. We’ve been communicating, but everything is just rumors until I see it. I have to visually see it with my own eyes,” says Mayweather.

Conor McGregor versus Floyd Mayweather takes place on Saturday, August 26 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
