GSP Not Interested In Rematch With Johny Hendricks

Former UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre will be returning to the Octagon later this year to battle UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping.

The last person GSP fought before retiring three years ago was Johny Hendricks and he’s not interested in another fight with him.

“I believe the best Johny Hendricks I’ve seen is gone,” St-Pierre said on UFC Unfiltered. “When he fought Jon Fitch, Martin Kampmann, Carlos Condit – when he fought me – I think this Johny Hendricks is gone. I didn’t feel the same pop, the same explosiveness. Maybe he’s going to prove [me] wrong at 185 maybe, but I feel he’s not the same anymore.”

Hendricks has now moved up to the middleweight division and that’s the same division that a returning GSP will be competing at. GSP does believe that Hendricks could put himself into title contention in the middleweight division.

“We’ll see what’s going to happen with him,” St-Pierre said. “Maybe if he bounces back like before. I believe he has the tools to go back to title contention for 185.”

Since their first meeting at UFC 167, the Oklahoma native did win the UFC Welterweight Title by defeating Robbie Lawler at UFC 171.
