The UFC Light Heavyweight Title is going to be defended at UFC 214 as Daniel Cormier defends the gold against former champion Jon Jones.

Cormier (19-1-0) will be making the third defense of his championship, as he has previously defended the gold against Alexander Gustafsson and Anthony Johnson. Cormier will also be entering the fight riding a four fight winning streak and he hasn’t suffered a defeat in over two years. Cormier also won the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix, defeating Josh Barnett by decision in the finals.

Jones (22-1-0) will be competing for the first time in over a year, as he is coming off of a suspension for a failed drug test prior to UFC 200. Jones defeated Cormier in their first fight at UFC 182 in January 2015, that win came by way of unanimous decision. Jones will also be entering this fight on the strength of a 13 fight winning streak and it has been almost eight years since the last time he suffered a loss.

UFC 214 takes place on Saturday, July 29 from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
