When The Undertaker retired at WrestleMania 33 back in April, solemnly taking off his gloves, coat and hat and leaving them in the center of the ring, many fans couldn't believe he was really gone.
Well, you can add the man who called that match to those ranks.
Jim Ross, who sat in on commentary for that infamous bout with Roman Reigns, was recently interviewed by Wrestle Zone, and the topic of the Undertaker's so-called "retirement" was brought up.
Well, it's a "so-called" retirement according to Good Ol' JR, who says that he's not buying it unless he hears it straight from the Dead Man's mouth.
“Until he says he’s done he’s not done. I think Vince McMahon is a marketing genius. He’s not going to miss any opportunity to monetize and maximize this amazing investment in this legacy of The Undertaker. Until The Undertaker says he’s done and it’s validated by the company and is signed off in that essence, for lack of a better term, I still say Undertaker is active and could return and wrestle at any time.”
Undertaker has been spotted in New York City and is apparently in town for SummerSlam, so if he wanted to make that retirement a temporary one, he's got an opportunity tonight.
