Prior to his initial run in the UFC, the Irishman was the first fighter to defeat UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and he also challenged for the Cage Warriors Lightweight Title.

Graham Boylan, who serves as an agent for Duffy, spoke to MMA Fighting about his client's new deal.

“(Joseph) is happy with the new deal and is looking forward to getting back in and being more active,” said Boylan.

Now that the fighter has signed a new multi-fight contract with the UFC, it will continue a working relationship that began over two years ago when Duffy made his promotional debut at UFC 185.

There is no date or opponent for Duffy’s return to the UFC.

The Irishman hasn’t been seen in the Octagon since defeating Reza Madadi by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 107.
