McGregor Rips Showtime & Mayweather At Second Press Conference

UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather both appeared in Toronto, Ontoario, Canada for the second stop in their four city press tour.

McGregor seemed fired up today, especially after yesterday’s microphone silence, which McGregor firmly blamed on Showtime.

Once word got out that Showtime was blamed for the microphone being cut on McGregor, the network issued a statement denying any wrongdoing.

“At no point did Showtime or event productions cut any microphones intentionally during Tuesday’s kickoff event in Los Angeles,” Showtime Sports executive Stephen Espinoza said in a statement. “The point of this world tour is to let these superstars interact with the fans and with each other. Cutting their mics would go against our goal of delivering these fighters to the masses and letting their charismatic and entertaining personalities take center stage.”

Apparently the apology wasn’t enough for McGregor, who ripped into Showtime and network executive Stephen Espinoza.

“While we’re at it, f*ck Showtime too,” McGregor said at the Toronto presser. “You little weasel. Look at you you little f*cking weasel, I can see it in your eyes, you’re a f*cking bitch. Cut my mic off? Cut the champ’s mic off? Hell no. You f*cking weasel. They’re trying to set me up at every turn out here. They’re trying to catch me off guard. ... There is nothing they can do to faze me. Twenty-eight years of age, I’m getting fight checks and promoter checks. When Floyd was 28, he was on Oscar De La Hoya’s undercard.”

The UFC Lightweight Champion wasn’t done after ripping Showtime, as then he turned his focus to his future opponent in Floyd Mayweather.

Mayweather pulled out his infamous book bag and that’s when McGregor ripped into the fighter.

“What are you doing with a school bag on stage? You can’t even (expletive) read!,” says McGregor.

Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather takes place on Saturday, August 26 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
