Michael Bisping Plans On Retiring When He Loses Middleweight Title

MMA

UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping is coming off of a successful title defense against Dan Henderson at UFC 204. However, he knows that at some point in time, he is going to lose his belt and when that happens, Bisping may be calling it a career.

“Never say never, you can’t fight forever,” Bisping said to MMA Junkie. “I’ve been doing this for a long, long time. I’ll probably keep going until I lose the belt then just say (expletive) it. Cheers.”

For now, Bisping is the middleweight champion and he does have an opponent in mind that he would like to fight next.

“(I would like to fight) Weidman, because he’s a tit,” Bisping said. “No, Weidman’s all right. I’ve got nothing against Weidman. I’ve berated his accomplishments as a champion. That’s what started this beef a while ago. He’s all right. I like him and his whole team – they’re all really, really cool guys. We’re both competitors. He wants what I’ve got. There’s a bit of history there. I think people will be interested in that fight, as well.”

While Bisping does not have a fight lined up at the moment, that may be just fine with the champion, who may be taking part in a feature film this January.

“I might have another big movie role that starts filming end of January,” Bisping said. “Sometime in January would be nice. So I can get a fight, then do the movie, if the movie comes. It’s not guaranteed yet.”

Bisping has not competed since UFC 204, andneither he nor the UFC have issued any form of statement on who the champion will be fighting next.
