Match By Match Recap

Syota Umino & Tomoyuki Oka vs. Ren Narita & Katsuya Kitamura

The match begins with Umino and Narita doing some chain wrestling, Narita backs Umino into the ropes before landing a chop. Umino gets mad and he drops Narita with a series of strikes, Oka tags in and he nails Narita with a slam. Oka follows that up by clobbering Narita with a series of knee strikes, Umino tags back in and he attacks Narita with chops. Umino and Narita get into a chopping exchange  until Narita drops Umino with a slam, Kitamura tags in and he crushes Umino with a running back elbow strike. Kitamura then catches Umino with a suplex for a near fall, Kitamura and Umino have a brief striking exchange as well.

Umino then drops a charging Kitamura with a drop kick, Oka and Narita get the tags from their respective partners. Narita traps Oka in the corner while attacking him with a bunch of kicks, Narota follows that up by nailing Oka with a hip toss for a near fall. Oka fights back and he nails Narita with a series of slams, Oka then locks Narita in the Boston crab to force a tap out.

Winners: Syota Umino & Tomoyuki Oka

Yuji Nagata & Hirai Kawato vs. Kota Ibushi & Tiger Mask IV

The match begins with Nagata and Ibushi taking turns working over the others arm, Nagata and Ibushi have a shoving match followed by a striking exchange until Ibushi goes down. Mask IV and Kawato get the tags from their respective partners, Kawato quickly attacks Mask IV with forearm strikes. Mask IV recovers quickly and he drops Kawato, Mask IV and Kawato would then exchange some hip tosses. Mask IV kicks a downed Kawato in the head before tagging Ibushi in, Ibushi drops Kawato and applies the camel clutch. Kawato fights back and Ibushi drops him with a kick, Kawato recovers and he drops a charging Ibushi with a drop kick.

Nagata gets tagged in and he assaults Ibushi with some kicks, Nagata traps Ibushi in the corner before landing a running boot to the face followed by an exploder suplex. Ibushi recovers to drop Nagata with a drop kick, Nagata and Ibushi have a kicking exchange after that. Ibushi eventually drops Nagata with a kick before landing a standing moonsault for a near fall, Kawato and Mask IV get the tags from their respective partners, Kawato quickly takes Mask IV down with a hurricarana. Kawato then nails Mask IV with a springboard drop kick for a near fall, Kawato locks Mask IV in the Boston crab until Ibushi breaks it up. Mask IV catches Kawato with a spin kick followed by a tiger driver for a near fall, Mask IV places Kawato on the top rope before landing a double under hook superplex for a three count.

Winners: Kota Ibushi & Tiger Mask IV

Chaos (Yoshi-Hashi, Tomohiro Ishii & Hirooki Goto) vs. Bullet Club (Bad Luck Fale, Chase Owens & Yujiro Takahashi)

The match begins with Ishii attacking Fale with a few chops, Fale would drop a swinging Ishii with a single forearm strike. Fale would also drop Ishii with a shoulder block followed by a shoulder tackle, Fale misses a charge into the corner and still manages to slam Ishii. The rest of Chaos tries interfering and Fale takes care of them, a brawl breaks out on the arena floor between everybody in the match. Takahashi tags into the match and he stomps away on a downed Ishii, Takahashi then nails Ishii with a running leg drop for a near fall. Owens tags in and he works with Takahashi to nail Ishii with a double back suplex, Owens rakes the eyes of Ishii before tagging Takahashi back in.

Bullet Club tries triple teaming Ishii and Ishii takes them all out, Goto tags in and he immediately attacks Takahashi with strikes. Goto then hits a cornered Owens with a running clothesline and then a cornered Takahashi with a spin kick, Takahashi recovers and he nails Goto with The Stroke. Owens tags in and he tries double teaming Goto with Takahashi until Goto takes them both out, Yoshi-Hashi tags in and Owens immediately drops him with a super kick. Bullet Club then nail Yoshi-Hashi with some triple team moves, Owens catches Yoshi-Hashi with a move from the top rope for a near fall.

All six competitors in the match get into quite the brawl, Owens goes for a package pile driver and Yoshi-Hashi escapes to land a lariat. Yoshi-Hashi locks Owens in the butterfly lock and the tap out follows.

Winners: Chaos (Yoshi-Hashi, Tomohiro Ishii & Hirooki Goto)

Suzuki-Gun (El Desparado, Taichi & Zack Sabre Jr.) vs. Los Ingobernables (Tetsuya Naito, Bushi & Hiromu Takahashi)

The match begins with an all out brawl breaking out on the arena floor before the bell even sounds, Bushi quickly removes his shirt so he can choke Taichi with it. Desparado and Takahashi take their fight into the ring, Desparado keeps takahashi down by attacking him with a lot of strikes. Desparado then nails Takahashi with a spin kick for a near fall, Takahashi recovers and catches Desparado with a hurricarana. Takahashi continues the attack by nailing Desparado with a dragon screw leg whip, Naito and Sabre Jr get the tags from their respective partners. Naito drops Sabre Jr with a hip toss before landing a drop kick, Naito then traps Sabre Jr in the ropes before landing a slingshot drop kick.

Sabre Jr eventually catches Naito with a roll up for a near fall, Naito misses a kick and Sabre Jr locks him in the octopus stretch. Naito breaks free and Sabre Jr nails him with a pele kick to the arm, Taichi tags in and Naito recovers quickly and he drops Taichi before tagging Bushi in. Bushi then connects with a missile drop kick against Taichi, Takahashi hits the ring and he nails Taichi with a super kick. Takahashi and Bushi attack Taichi with some double team moves, a brawl breaks out on the arena floor while Bushi and Taichi battle in the ring. Desparado distracts he referee so Taichi can hit Bushi with the microphone stand, Taichi rolls up Bushi for the three count.

Winners: Suzuki-Gun (El Desparado, Taichi & Zack Sabre Jr.)

Hiroshi Tanahashi & Jushin “Thunder” Liger vs. David Finlay & Togi Makabe

The match begins with Tanahashi taking Makabe down and working on his arm, Makabe recovers and drops Tanahashi with a shoulder tackle. Finlay and Liger get the tags from their respective partners, Liger drops a charging Finlay with a tilt-a-whirl back breaker before applying the surfboard hold. Makabe breaks up the submission and then distracts Liger so Finlay can attack him from behind, Makabe hits the ring and he nails Liger with some clotheslines. Liger eventually avoids a charging Makabe and makes the tag to Tanahashi, Tanahashi quickly drops Makabe and then nails him with a middle rope swanton bomb.

Makabe recovers and drops Tanahashi with a running clothesline, Makabe then assaults Tanahashi with punches before landing a Northern lights suplex for a near fall. Tanahashi tries fighting back and Makabe drops him with another clothesline, Finlay tags in and he catches Tanahashi with some running back elbow strikes. Finaly then catches Tanahashi with a leaping European uppercut for a near fall, Tanahashi recovers and drops Finlay with a dragon screw leg whip. Tanahashi locks Finlay in a Texas cloverleaf and Makabe breaks it up, Makabe then drops Tanahashi and Liger with a double clothesline. Finlay then hits Tanahashi with a uranage back breaker for a near fall, Tanahashi recovers and drops Finlay with a sling blade followed by a High Fly Flow for the three count.

Winners: Hiroshi Tanahashi & Jushin “Thunder” Liger

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block B: Juice Robinson vs. Sanada

The match begins with Robinson working the headlock against Sanada, Robinson and Sanada go through a series of reversals with nobody getting a clear advantage. Robinson catches Sanada with a drop kick that knocks him out of the ring, Robinson goes out of the ring as well and he throws Sanada into the barricade. Sanada recovers by attacking the injured knee of Robinson, Sanada then wraps the injured knee of Robinson around the barricade while pulling away on it. Sanada waits for Robinson to get back into the ring before stretching his injured knee around the middle rope, Sanada then nails the injured knee of Robinson with an atomic drop.

Sanada follows Robinson around the ring while throwing strikes, Sanada looks for the Cold Skull and Robinson catches him with an inverted DDT. Robinson catches Sanada with a second inverted DDT for a near fall, Robinson follows that up by catching Sanada with a running clothesline in the corner. Robinson prepares for the cannonball and Sanada drop kicks him in his injured knee, Sanada quickly applies the figure four leg lock to Robinson. Robinson eventually reverses the figure four leg lock and Sanada rolls out of the ring while holding onto the move, Sanada releases the hold and both wrestlers make it back into the ring. Robinson catches Sanada with a roll up from out of nowhere for a near fall, Robinson then nails a charging Sanada with a spine buster.

Robinson would then nails Sanada with a falling power bomb for another near fall, Sanada recovers and he drops Robinson with a missile drop kick. Sanada looks for the Cold Skull and Robinson escapes to nail him with a lariat, Robinson goes for Pulp Friction and Sanada escapes before eating a left. Sanada recovers to nail Robinson in the injured knee with a chop block, Sanada locks Robinson in the Cold Skull. Sanada releases the hold to hit Robinson with a moonsault for the three count.

Winner: Sanada

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block B: Michael Elgin vs. Toru Yano

The match begins with Yano trying to attack Elgin with shoulder tackles, Yano tries removing the turnbuckle pad and Elgin attacks him from behind. Yano removes a different turnbuckle pad and he attacks Elgin with it, Yano then sends a charging Elgin into the exposed corner for a near fall. Elgin then hits Yano with a delayed verticle suplex before pushing him into the exposed corner, Elgin avoids a low blow from Yano. Yano nails Elgin with a second low blow before pretending that Elgin nailed him with one to cause a disqualification.

Winner: Toru Yano, by disqualification

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block B: Satoshi Kojima vs. Minoru Suzuki

The match begins with Suzuki jumping Kojima as he entered the ring, Kojima attacks Suzuki with a lot of forearm strikes on the arena floor. Suzuki recovers and he throws Kojima into the barricade, Suzuki distracts the referee while El Desparado attacks Kojima. Suzuki again tosses Kojima right into a barricade a few more times, Suzuki traps Kojima in the barricade while landing some chops. Taichi and Desparado interfere until Hiroyoshi Tenzan makes the save, Suzuki finds a chair and he attacks Kojima with it. Taichi and Desparado attack Kojima again as Suzuki distracts the referee, Suzuki finally brings Kojima into the ring and Kojima attacks him with chops.

Kojima would then catch Suzuki with a running forearm strike in the corner, Kojima and Suzuki would then have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring. Kojima then catches Suzuki with a roaring elbow strike followed by a DDT, Kojima goes to the top rope and Suzuki meets him up there. Suzuki applies an abdominal stretch on Kojima from the top rope, Suzuki releases the hold and Kojima stumbles to the mat below. Suzuki catches Kojima with a penalty kick for a near fall, Suzuki would also apply the Fujiwara arm bar to Kojima. Suzuki releases the hold to apply a sleeper hold to Kojima, Suzuki goes for the Gotch style pile driver and Kojima blocks it with a back body drop.

Kojima recovers and he drops Suzuki with a lariat for a near fall, Desparado interferes again and Tenzan hits the ring to eliminate him. Taichi interferes as well and Tenzan takes him out as well, Kojima would then crush Suzuki with a brain buster for a near fall. Kojima goes for the lariat and Suzuki nails him with a drop kick, Suzuki reapplies the sleeper hold to Kojima. Suzuki nails Kojima with a Gotch style pile driver for the three count.

Winner: Minoro Suzuki

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block B: Kazuchika Okada vs. Tama Tonga

The match begins with Tonga jumping Okada before the bell sounded, Tonga steals the robe from Okada and he poses with it in the corner. Okada gets angry and he nails Tonga with a boot to the face followed by a drop kick, Okada drags Tonga to the outside of the ring. Tonga picks up Okada and he drops him face first on the ring apron, Tonga then attacks a downed Okada with a series of elbow strikes. Tonga gets in the ring and he assaults Okada with punches as he returned to the ring, Tonga then catches Okada with a back suplex for a near fall. Okada tries fighting back and Tonga cracks him with a headbutt, Okada recovers and promptly drops Tonga with a neck breaker.

Okada then attacks Tonga with a series of running forearm strikes, Okada follows that up by nailing Tonga with a flying forearm strike into a DDT. Okada looks for a tombstone pile driver and Tonga counters with a flapjack, Tonga follows his attack up by catching Okada with an avalanche in the corner. Okada recovers and catches a charging Tonga with a flapjack, Okada continues the attack on Tonga by nailing him with a modified neck breaker. Okada goes to the top rope before catching Tonga with a diving elbow drop, Tonga catches Okada with a spear after escaping from the Rainmaker. Tonga follows his attack up by locking Okada in a guillotine choke, Tonga then escapes another Rainmaker to catch Okada with a DDT for a near fall.

Okada escapes the Gun Stun to nail Tonga with a drop kick, Okada and Tonga go through a series of reversals until Tonga lands the pele kick. Okada recovers and he nails Tonga with a German suplex in a Rainmaker for the three count.

Winner: Kazuchika Okada

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block B: Kenny Omega vs. Evil

The match begins with Evil nailing Omega with a few kicks to the midsection, Evil follows that up by dropping Omega with a shoulder tackle. Evil brings Omega out of the ring and he chokes him with a wire he finds, Evil removes the padding from the arena floor and Omega winds up slamming him on the exposed floor. Omega then picks up Evil and slams him on the time keepers table, Evil eventually gets back in the ring and Omega gets a near fall on him. Omega would then hit Evil with a Finlay roll into a middle rope moonsault for a near fall, Omega follows that up by nailing Evil with knee strikes. Omega continues to focus his attack on the injured back of Evil, Omega catches Evil with a back breaker for a near fall.

Evil drops Omega and he looks for the senton as Omega gets his knees up, Omega misses a charge into the corner and Evil drops him with a clothesline. Evil uses the referee to distract Omega so he can nail him with a super kick, Evil goes out of the ring to grab some chairs and Omega catches him with a running drop kick. Evil recovers and he suplexes Omega on the arena floor, Evil swings a chair at Omega and he winds up hitting the ring post. Omega goes for a leap off the barricade and Evil nails him with a chair, Evil wraps a chair around the head of Omega before nailing him with another chair.

Evil brings Omega into the ring to hit him with a fisherman buster suplex for a near fall, Evil quickly locks Omega in the Banshee Muzzle. Omega escapes and he catches Evil with a hurricarana that knocks him to the arena floor, Omega then catches Evil with a suicide dive. Omega finds a table and he places it on top of a downed Evil before landing a double stomp, Omega then places Evil on the set up table. Evil gets up and he smashes Omega’s back into the edge of the ring multiple times, Omega and Evil battle each other on the ring apron. Evil winds up putting Omega through the table after a short striking exchange, Omega gets back in the ring as Evil goes to the top rope.

Evil catches Omega with a diving clothesline for a near fall, Evil then catches Omega with a modified sit out power bomb for a near fall. Omega and Evil have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring, Omega would then crush Evil with a cross legged neck breaker. Evil recovers to crack Omega with a forearm strike, Omega then hits Evil with a snap dragon suplex and a V-Trigger for a near fall. Evil recovers and he nails Omega with a release German suplex, Evil follows that up by cracking Omega with a lariat for a near fall. Evil reapplies the Banshee Muzzle to Omega, Omega eventually gets to the ropes to break the hold. Omega eats a headbutt before nailing Evil with a V-Trigger, Omega then hits Evil with a reverse hurricarana for a near fall.

Omega then cracks Evil with another V-Trigger for a near fall, Omega catches Evil with another V-Trigger followed by a One Winged Angel for the three count.
