Match By Match Recap

Katsuya Kitamura & Tomoyuki Oka vs. Bullet Club (Yujiro Takahashi & Tama Tonga)

The match begins with Kitamura using his power to knock Takahashi across the ring, Kitamura follows that up by dropping Takahashi with a shoulder block. Tonga hits the ring and he attacks Kitamura from behind, Kitamura recovers to drop both opponents with a double shoulder tackle. Oka hits the ring and Bullet Club bites the hands of both opponents, Oka catches Takahashi with an avalanche in the corner. Takahashi trips up Oka before nailing him with a running drop kick, Takahashi would then catch Oka with a slam for a near fall. Tonga tags in and he attacks Oka with a series of strikes, Oka tries fighting back and Tonga just slams him.

Tonga mauls Oka with strikes in the corner before tagging Takahashi in, Takahashi drops Oka before nailing him with a running leg drop. Oka recovers to catch a charging Takahashi with a belly to belly suplex, Kitamura tags in and he takes out an interfering Tonga with a back body drop. Kitamura then connects with a gut wrench suplex on Takahashi for a near fall, Kitamura locks Takahashi in the Boston crab until Tonga breaks it up. Kitamura misses a charge in the corner and Tonga nails him with an avalanche, Takahashi hits KItamura with a fisherman buster suplex followed by Pimp Juice for the three count.

Winners: Bullet Club (Yujiro Takahashi & Tama Tonga)

Michael Elgin, Tiger Mask IV & Hirai Kawato vs. Suzuki-Gun (Minoru Suzuki, Taichi & El Desparado)

The match begins with an all out brawl breaking out between everybody in the match, Elgin and Suzuki have a forearm strike exchange on the arena floor. Taichi and Mask IV take their brawl back into the ring, Taichi nails Mask IV with a running clothesline in the corner. Mask IV nails Taichi with a tiger driver from out of nowhere for a near fall, Elgin and Suzuki get the tags from their respective partners. Elgin nails Suzuki with a running clothesline in the corner, Suzuki looks for the sleeper hold and Elgin nails him with a roaring elbow strike. Suzuki eats a few more forearm strikes before locking Elgin in a sleeper hold, Elgin recovers and drops Suzuki with a back body drop.

Suzuki cracks Elgin with a knee strike before tagging Desparado in, Elgin drops Desparado before tagging Kawato into the match. Kawato quickly nails Desparado with a drop kick, Desparado would then get triple teamed by the opposing team. Kawato catches Desparado with a springboard drop kick for a near fall, Kawato also hits Desparado with a small package for a near fall. Taichi interferes to hit Kawato with a knee strike followed by a spear from Desparado, Desparado nails Kawato with the Angels Wings for the three count.

Winners: Suzuki-Gun (Minoru Suzuki, Taichi & El Desparado)

Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima vs. Los Ingobernables (Bushi & Sanada)

The match begins with Bushi attacking Kojima from behind so Sanada can get the advantage, Kojima fights back and drops both of his opponents. Kojima also stomps away on a downed Sanada, Tenzan hits the ring and he teams with Kojima to work over Sanada. Tenzan traps Sanada in the corner before attacking him with a few kicks, Tenzan takes Sanada out of the corner to nail him with a suplex. Bushi attacks Tenzan from behind and that allows Sanada to hit him with a drop kick to the leg, Bushi tags in and he chokes Tenzan with his shirt. Sanada tags back in and he locks Tenzan in the camel clutch, Tenzan fights back and he catches Sanada with a Samoan drop.

Kojima tags in and he nails Sanada with machine gun chops in the corner, Bushi hits the ring and Kojima nails him with machine gun chops as well. Kojima tries going out of the ring and Sanada kicks the middle rope into his balls, Sanada traps Kojima in the paradise lock before landing a drop kick. Sanada looks for the Cold Skull and he catches Kojima with a drop kick instead, Bushi tags in and he nails Kojima with a missile drop kick. Kojima tries fighting back and Bushi nails him with a DDT, Sanada and Bushi would then attack Kojima with some double team moves. Tenzan hits the ring and he lays out Bushi with a clothesline, Kojima hits Bushi with a brain buster for a near fall.

Kojima and Tenzan then nail a charging Sanada with a 3D, Kojima would then catch Bushi with a lariat for the three count.

Winners: Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima

David Finlay & Juice Robinson vs. Bullet Club (Kenny Omega & Chase Owens)

The match begins with Owens and Finlay doing a little chain wrestling, Finlay drops Owens with a running shoulder tackle. Omega distracts Finlay and that allows Owens to knock him out of the ring with a knee strike, Owens would then catch Finlay with an axe handle drop from the ring apron. Omega tags in and he works with Owens to hit Finlay with a double elbow drop, Omega catches Finlay with a hard Irish whip into the corner. Owens tags back in and he nails Finlay with a middle rope fist drop, Finlay uses a roll up to eventually make the tag to Robinson.

Robinson catches both opponents with his patented jabs, Robinson would then catch Owens with an inverted DDT. Robinson follows that up by catching both opponents with cannonballs in the corner, Omega eventually finds a way to drop Robinson and Owens gets a near fall. Omega and Finlay start brawling on the arena floor, Owens misses a gut buster and Robinson nails him with Pulp Friction for the three count.

Winners: David Finlay & Juice Robinson

Chaos (Kazuchika Okada & Toru Yano) vs. Los Ingobernables (Evil & Hiromu Takahashi)

The match begins with an all out brawl on the arena floor between both teams, Evil brings Okada into the crowd before smashing his face on a chair. Evil brings Okada back to ringside before tossing him into the barricade, Evil puts a chair around the head of Okada before tossing him into the ring post. Takahashi brings Yano into the ring and he rakes his eyes, Takahashi drops Yano again before tagging Evil into the match. Evil catches Yano with a senton bomb for a near fall, Yano uses a hair pull to get Evil down and Okada tagged into the match. Okada catches Evil with a DDT followed by a running back elbow strike into the corner, Takahashi interferes and Okada throws him out of the ring.

Okada slams Evil and then leaps off the top rope before eating a side kick, Evil traps Okada in the corner before landing a spinning clothesline. Evil then hits Okada with a side slam, Takahashi tags in and Okada quickly nails him with a flapjack before tagging Yano in. Yano removes the turnbuckle pad and Takahashi nails him with a super kick, Takahashi would then nail a swinging Yano with a dragon screw leg whip. Yano rolls up Takahashi from out of nowhere to get the three count.

Winners: Chaos (Kazuchika Okada & Toru Yano)

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block A: Yuji Nagata vs. Kota Ibushi

The match begins with Nagata and Ibushi doing some chain wrestling, Nagata would then start attacking Ibushi with some kicks followed by a drop kick. Ibushi quickly recovers and drops a charging Nagata with a kick of his own, Nagata rolls out of the ring and Ibushi feigns a suicide dive attempt. Ibushi drags Nagata to the ground and they both exchange submission hold attempts, Nagata gets up first and he kicks away at a downed Ibushi. Nagata keeps Ibushi down and he locks him in a crippler cross face, Nagata releases the hold so he can kick away at Ibushi again.

Nagata starts focusing his attack on the injured arm of Ibushi, Nagata would then lock in the Fujiwara arm bar against Ibushi. Ibushi recovers and he nails Nagata with a drop kick, Ibushi would then drop Nagata with a kick before landing a standing moonsault for a near afll. Nagat recovers to hit Ibushi with a running boot to the face, Ibushi recovers and knocks Nagata out of the ring with a hurricarana. Ibushi follows that up by catching Nagata with a moonsault on the arena floor, the two battle back into the ring and Nagata nails Ibushi with an exploder suplex. Nagata again attacks a downed Ibushi with a series of kicks, Ibushi gets back up and he mauls Nagata with some strikes in the corner.

Nagata and Ibushi then get into a striking exchange in the middle of the ring, Nagata and Ibushi both go down after kicking each other in the head. Nagata and Ibushi get back to their feet while having another striking exchange, Ibushi eventually drops Nagata with a pele kick. Ibushi would then nail Nagata with a German suplex for a near fall, Nagata drags Ibushi back to the ground and he applies the Nagata Lock. Ibushi eventually makes it to the ropes to break the submission attempt, Ibushi gets up and Nagata drops him before landing some more strikes. Nagata then nails Ibushi with a screw driver brain buster for a near fall, Nagata gets angry and he nails Ibushi with a belly to back suplex for a near fall.

Nagata goes for another suplex and Ibushi breaks free, Ibushi then cracks Nagata with an enzaguri followed by the sit out power bomb for a near fall. Ibushi then crushes Nagata with the knee strike for the three count.

Winner: Kota Ibushi

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block A: Tomohiro Ishii vs. Bad Luck Fale

The match begins with Ishii cracking Fale with a series of forearm strikes, Fale recovers and drops Ishii with a shoulder block. Ishii gets back up and he attacks Fale with a ton of shoulder tackles, Fale would then drop a charging Ishii with a shoulder block. Fale keeps Ishii down and he works him over with a nerve hold, Fale releases the hold and he attacks Ishii with a plethora of strikes. Ishii gets back up and he nails Fale with a bunch of chops, Fale gets Ishii right back down and stomps away on him. Fale misses a charge into the corner and Ishii looks for a suplex, Ishii releases the suplex and he nails Fale with a DDT.

Ishii chops Fale in the corner and then catches him with a few clotheslines, Ishii eventually drops Fale with a running clothesline. Fale recovers to hit Ishii with an avalanche in the corner followed by a splash for a near fall, Fale misses a middle rope splash and still manages to catch Ishii in a bear hug. Ishii breaks free after nailing Fale with a headbutt and then crushing him with a suplex, Ishii crushes Fale with a lariat for a near fall. Ishii goes for a sliding clothesline and Fale blocks it, Ishii then goes for an arm bar and Fale breaks free after a struggle. Fale picks up Ishii and he crushes him in the corner before landing a middle rope splash, Fale then cracks Ishii with the Grenade. Fale goes for the Bad Luck Fall and Ishii escapes, Ishii would then crack Fale with an enzaguri followed by a shining wizard.

Ishii follows that up by nailing Fale with a sliding clothesline for a near fall, Ishii again locks Fale in the arm bar. Ishii transitions into a triangle choke against Fale, Fale eventually catches Ishii with a power bomb to break the submission. Ishii and Fale get into a striking exchange until Fale nails him with a spear, Fale nails Ishii with a Bad Luck Fall for the three count.

Winner: Bad Luck Fale

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block A: Hirooki Goto vs. Yoshi-Hashi

The match begins with Goto and Yoshi-Hashi taking turns working over the others arm, Yoshi-Hashi eventually drops Goto with a shoulder tackle. Goto gets up and he immediately slams Yoshi-Hashi, Goto follows that up by just stomping away on a downed Yoshi-Hashi. Goto works over Yoshi-Hashi until the two have a brief striking exchange in the middle of the ring, Goto drops Yoshi-Hashi again and he attacks him with a few stomps. Yoshi-Hashi fights back and he eventually drops Goto with a rolling neck breaker, Yoshi-Hashi then corners Goto before attacking him with a running chop.

Yoshi-Hashi would then place Goto on the top rope before nailing him with a drop kick, Yoshi-Hashi goes to the top rope and he hits Goto with a blockbuster for a near fall. Yoshi-Hashi is setting up for another move when Goto catches him with a back body drop, Goto traps Yoshi-Hashi in the corner before nailing him with a spin kick for a near fall. Goto continues working over Yoshi-Hashi until Yoshi-Hashi clobbers him with a clothesline, Yoshi-Hashi nails Goto with a power bomb with bridge for a near fall. Yoshi-Hashi would then lock Goto in the butterfly lock, Yoshi-Hashi transitions into a guillotine choke on Goto.

Goto tries breaking free and Yoshi-Hashi reapplies the butterfly lock to him, Goto breaks free and he nails Yoshi-Hashi with a modified back breaker. Yoshi-Hashi tries locking Goto in the sleeper hold and Goto escapes to apply one of his own, Goto releases the hold and clobbers Yoshi-Hashi with a clothesline. Goto then nails Yoshi-Hashi with a modified neck breaker for a near fall, Goto goes for a GTR and Yoshi-Hashi rolls him up for a near fall. Yoshi-Hashi and Goto start attacking each other with clotheslines until Goto goes down, Yoshi-Hashi goes for Kharma and Goto nails him with a headbutt. Goto then hits Yoshi-Hashi with a pair of GTR’s for the three count.

Winner: Hirooki Goto

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block A: Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Tetsuya Naito

The match begins with Naito knocking Sabre Jr out of the ring after he was spat on, Sabre Jr gets back in the ring and Naito corners him before stomping away on him. Sabre Jr then catches a leaping Naito in a guillotine choke, Sabre Jr releases the hold to apply the head scissors to Naito. Naito breaks free of the hold and attacks Sabre Jr with a series of chops, Sabre Jr quickly drops Naito and he locks him in the STF. Sabre Jr releases the STF and he locks Naito in the kravat, Sabre Jr follows that up by nailing a swinging Naito with a neck breaker. Sabre Jr then attacks Naito with a series of European uppercuts, Naito recovers to drop Sabre Jr twice and catch him with drop kicks both times.

Sabre Jr quickly recovers and he catches Naito in a guillotine choke, Sabre Jr drops Naito and he would then catch him with a penalty kick. Sabre Jr and Naito get into a striking exchange in the middle of the ring, Naito traps Sabre Jr in the ropes before nailing him with a modified back breaker. Naito places Sabre Jr on the top turnbuckle and he follows him up there, Sabre Jr drags Naito off the ropes with a kimura before nailing the injured arm with a pele kick. Sabre Jr then catches Naito in a German suplex before applying another head scissors, Naito escapes the hold to nail Sabre Jr with a release German suplex.

Naito goes for a leaping clothesline and Sabre Jr catches him to apply the octopus hold, Naito eventually makes it to the ropes to break the hold. Sabre Jr would then attack Naito with some more European uppercuts, Naito recovers and drops Sabre Jr with a satellite DDT. Naito misses a kick and Sabre Jr rolls him up for a near fall, Naito then goes for Destino and Sabre Jr rolls him up for another near fall. Sabre Jr misses the penalty kick and Naito nails him with an enzaguri followed by a flying clothesline, Naito nails Sabre Jr with Destino for the three count.

Winner: Tetsuya Naito

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block A: Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Togi Makabe

The match begins with Tanahashi and Makabe exchanging some holds, Makabe drops Tanahashi first and Tanahashi recovers to apply the headlock. Tanahashi would then catch Makabe with a middle rope cross body block followed by a drop kick, Makabe rolls out of the ring and Tanahashi nails him with a suicide dive. Makabe recovers and he shoves Tanahashi into the barricade, Tanahashi and Makabe get into a striking exchange until Makabe drops him with a clothesline. Makabe also tosses Tanahashi into the barricade a few more times, Makabe goes back into the ring and he attacks Tanahashi when he returns to the ring.

Makabe would then catch a charging Tanahashi with a power slam, Makabe then proceeds to stomp away on a downed Tanahashi. Tanahashi recovers to trap Makabe in the corner before landing a dragon screw leg whip, Tanahashi proceeds to slam Makabe before catching him with a middle rope swanton bomb for a near fall. Makabe recovers by trapping Tanahashi in the corner and assaulting him with punches, Makabe nails Tanahashi with a northern lights suplex for a near fall. Tanahashi gets back up and he catches Makabe with a sling blade, Tanahashi mauls Makabe with strikes as he corners him.

Makabe recovers and he drops a charging Tanahashi with a lariat, Makabe then hits Tanahashi with a power bomb for a near fall. Makabe goes for the King Kong Knee Drop and Tanahashi gets out of the way, Tanahashi then nails Makabe with a sling blade before missing the High Fly Flow. Makabe goes for a lariat and Tanahashi counters with a German suplex, Makabe recovers and he catches Tanahashi with a German suplex of his own. Makabe places Tanahashi on the top turnbuckle and he follows him up there, Tanahashi gets off the ropes and he catches Makabe with another German suplex for a near fall. Tanahashi then nails Makabe with the sling blade for a near fall, Tanahashi would also catch Makabe with a pair of High Fly Flows for the three count.
