Match By Match Recap

Teruaki Kanemitsu vs. Hirai Kawato

The match begins with Kawato nailing Kanemitsu with a few chops, Kawato goes for the headlock and Kanemitsu counters into a pinning combination. Kanemitsu starts working over the arm of Kawato, Kawato locks in another headlock and Kanemitsu counters into a pinning combination for a two count. Kanemitsu drops a charging Kawato with a hip toss before locking him in the head scissors, Kawato escapes and Kanemitsu nails him with a few forearm strikes. Kanemitsu drops Kawato and he locks him in the camel clutch for a few moments, Kanemitsu switches to a chin lock on Kawato. Kanemitsu releases the hold on Kawato before attacking him with a few chops, Kawato then drops a charging Kanemitsu with a drop kick.

Kawato hits Kanemitsu with a scoop slam for the near fall, Kawato locks Kanemitsu in the Boston crab and Kanemitsu grabs the ropes to break the hold. The wrestlers have a forearm strike exchange in the middle of the ring, Kanemitsu then drops Kawato with a drop kick. Kanemitsu nails Kawato with a running drop kick in the corner followed by a power slam for the near fall, Kawato catches Kanemitsu with a few pinning combinations for some near falls. Kanemitsu catches Kawato in the Boston crab and the tap out follows.

Winner: Teruaki Kanemitsu

Before our next match begins, Yoshi Tatsu says something on the microphone before an all out brawl breaks out between the competitors.

Juice Robinson & Yoshi Tatsu vs. Bullet Club (Yujiro Takahashi & Bone Soldier)

The bout begins with all four competitors brawling on the outside of the ring, Takahashi throws Robinson into the ring post. Takahashi and Soldier double team Tatsu on the arena floor, Soldier throws Tatsu into the ring to work on him further. Soldier just stomps and chokes a downed Tatsu, Soldier brings Tatsu in the corner to beat him up further before tagging Takahashi in. Takahashi catches a seated Tatsu with a running boot to the face, Takahashi attacks Tatsu with several chops in the corner. Tatsu fights back and drops Takahashi with the inzaguri, Robinson tags in and he cleans house of the opposition. Robinson then hits Takahashi with a running clothesline in the corner, Robinson follows that up by catching Takahashi with a cannonball senton.

Robinson gets Takahashi out of the corner before nailing him with a delayed verticle suplex, Soldier tries interfering and Robinson knocks him out of the ring. Takahashi regains control before kicking a dazed Robinson in the head, Robinson recovers by catching Takahashi with a spine buster. Tatsu and Soldier get the tags from their respective partners, Tatsu takes out Takahashi with a knee strike to the face. Tatsu traps Soldier in the ropes before kicking him in the midsection a few times, Takahashi hits the ring again and Robinson sends him out of the ring. Takahashi then throws Robinson into the ring post again, Takahashi distracts Tatsu and that allows Soldier to low blow him for the disqualification.

Winners: Juice Robinson & Yoshi Tatsu, by disqualification

After the match, Soldier continues beating on Tats and he chokes him with his belt until Robinson makes the save.

Tiger Mask IV, Jushin “Thunder” Liger & TenCozy (Satoshi Kojima & Hiroyoshi Tenzan) vs. Titan, Angel De Oro, Manabu Nakanishi & Yuji Nagata

This one begins with Liger applying the headlock to De Oro, De Oro escapes and Liger drops him with a shoulder tackle. De Oro recovers and he drops kicks Liger out of the ring, De Oro then catches Liger with a suicide dive on the arena floor. De Oro brings Liger back in the ring and Liger quickly catches him with a tilt-a-whirl back breaker, Nakanishi and Tenzan get the tags and they have a test of strength. Nakanishi and Tenzan both try to take the other down with shoulder tackles, Tenzan then hits Nakanishi with headbutts and some Mongolian chops until he goes down. Nakanishi recovers and he drops Tenzan with a flying forearm, Nakanishi then lands a splash on Tenzan for the near fall. Titan tags in and he catches Tenzan with a springboard cross body and a few other aerial moves for a near fall, Titan trips up Tenzan before applying a modified ankle lock on him.

De Oro tags in and he attacks Tenzan with a bunch of forearm strikes, Tenzan breaks free and charges at De Oro to eat a drop kick to the face. Nagata tags in and he attacks Tenzan with a series of kicks to the body, Tenzan drop a charging Nagata with a Samoan drop. Kojima tags in and he attacks Nagata with a plethora of his patented chops in the corner, Kojima then hits Nagata with a series of forearm strikes. Kojima and Nagata decide to just stand in the center of the ring and attack each other with every strike imaginable, Kojima eventually catches Nagata with the ace crusher. Mask IV and Titan get the tag from their respective partners, Titan catches Mask IV with a few roll ups for near falls. De Oro and Titan double team Mask IV in the corner, Mask IV blocks a moonsault attempt from Titan by getting his knees up.

Mask IV catches Titan with a tiger driver for the near fall, Mask IV sets Titan up on the top rope and he catches him with a top rope double under hook suplex. Mask IV hits Titan with a dragon suplex for the three count.

Winners: Tiger Mask IV, Jushin “Thunder” Liger & TenCozy (Satoshi Kojima & Hiroyoshi Tenzan)

Chaos (Hirooki Goto, Tomohiro Ishii & Yoshi-Hashi) vs. Bullet Club (Chase Owens, Tama Tonga & Tonga Roa)

This match begins with Roa jumping Yoshi-Hashi as the bell sounds, Yoshi-Hashi quickly regains control by attacking the knee of Roa. Roa eventually drops a charging Yoshi-Hashi with a shoulder tackle, Tama interferes and that brings Ishii into the ring. Chaos then decides to take out all three members of the opposition with triple team maneuvers, Goto stays in the ring and he attacks Roa with a spinning heel kick in the corner. Tama interferes and that allows Roa to knock Goto out of the ring, an all-out brawl breaks out between the competitors on the arena floor. Roa gets Goto in the ring and he catches him with a power slam for the near fall, Owens tags in and he rips away at the face of Goto.

Owens follows that up by attacking the neck of Goto with some elbow strikes, Tama tags in and he catches Goto with a neck breaker. Tama and Roa then attack Goto with a few double team maneuvers, Goto tries fighting back and he eventually cases Tama to knock into Roa. Owens tags in and Goto catches him with a back suplex before tagging Yoshi-Hashi in, Yoshi-Hashi then takes out Tama with a huracanrana and a running back elbow strike. Yoshi-Hashi traps Tama in the rope before catching him with a drop kick to the back, Tama recovers and catches a charging Yoshi-Hashi with a drop kick of his own. Yoshi-Hashi quickly recovers and he nails Tama with a neck breaker before tagging Ishii in, Ishii eventually catches Tama with a releases German suplex for a near fall.

The action spills to the arena floor for some of the competitors in the match, Yoshi-Hashi and Ishii catch Tama with a double power bomb. Roa tries interfering and Ishii drops him with an exploder suplex, Owens tags in and he hits Ishii with a rolling neck breaker. Roa returns to the ring and he helps Owens nail Ishii with a springboard code breaker for a near fall, Goto returns to the ring and he clobbers Tama with a modified back breaker. Owens catches Ishii with a kick to the head for another two count, Yoshi-Hashi prevents Owens from hitting Ishii with a package pile driver. Ishii catches Owens with a brain buster for the three count.

Winners: Chaos (Hirooki Goto, Tomohiro Ishii & Yoshi-Hashi)

After the match, another brawl breaks out between Tama Tonga, Tonga Roa, Yoshi-Hashi and Tomohiro Ishii, security eventually breaks everything up.

Chaos (Kazuchika Okada, Will Ospreay & Gedo) vs. Bullet Club (Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson)

The action starts off with the Bullet Club jumping Chaos before the bell sounds, all three members of the Bullet Club decide to triple team Gedo in the corner. Omega and Matt then hit Gedo with a double senton bomb, Okada and Ospreay return to the ring to clean house of Bullet Club. Okada propels Ospreay onto all three members of Bullet Club, Gedo starts peppering Matt with a series of jabs before landing a super kick. The Bucks then hit Okada with a propelled drop kick to knock him out of the ring, Bullet Club then hits all three members of Chaos with suicide dives onto the arena floor. Nick brings Gedo into the ring to stomp on him a few times, Nick decides to simply scratch at the back of Gedo before pulling on his beard. Omega tags in and he nails Gedo with a middle rope axe handle drop, Omega pulls at the beard of Gedo before tagging Matt in.

Matt crushes Gedo with a double stomp from the top rope, Nick tags back in and he smashes Gedo into the boot of Matt. Nick follows that up by smashing the face f Gedo into the boots of both Matt and Omega, Gedo recovers and he tosses Nick into all four boots of Omega and Matt. Gedo goes for the tag and Nick nails him with a running knee strike, The Bucks double team Gedo after that for the near fall. Gedo drops Nick with a right before making the tag to Okada, Okada comes in and he cleans house with Bullet Club. Okada takes out both Bucks with a double submission hold on them, Okada then plants an interfering Omega with a DDT. Okada goes to the top rope and Matt sprays him in the eyes with the hairspray bottle, Okada recovers after a Buck mistake to hit Nick with a modified neck breaker for the near fall. The Bucks recover to catch Gedo with a double super kick, Okada then places both Bucks on the top rope. Omega then takes out Okada with a release German suplex, Ospreay then hits both Bucks with a double huracanrana from the top rope.

Ospreay then hits a charging Omega with a one man Spanish fly, Okada gets back in the match by catching Nick with a drop kick. Ospreay tags in and he nails Omega with a kick to the face, Ospreay follows that up by hitting Omega with a handspring kick to the face. Ospreay catches a downed Omega with a tornado kick to the back of the head, Matt comes in the ring to hit Omega with a super kick by mistake. Ospreay then sends both of the Young Bucks to the arena floor, Bulllet Club catches a diving Ospreay before nailing him with a Meltzer Driver on the arena floor. Bullet Club brings Ospreay into the ring before nailing him with a triple super kick for the near fall, Omega nails Ospreay with the One Winged Angel for the three count.

Winners: Bullet Club (Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson)

Hiroshi Tanahashi, Katsuyori Shibata & Global Bash Heel (Togi Makabe & Tomoaki Homna) vs. Los Ingobernables (Tetsuya Naito, Bushi, Evil & Sanada)

The bout kicks off with Tanahashi issuing a slap to the face of Sanada, Sanada returns the favor and Bushi interferes to help his teammate. Tanahashi is quick to recover and he hits Sanada with a drop kick, Homna tags in and he teams with Tanahashi to hit Sanada with a double shoulder tackle. Homna misses the head butt, Shibata and Evil tag in to start the chaos between them as Shibata nails Evil with a plethora of strikes. An all-out brawl breaks out on the arena floor between all eight competitors in the match, Evil wraps the arm of Shibata in a chair before throwing him into the ring post. Evil then wraps a chair around the head of Shibata before tossing him into the ring post a second time, Naito tags in and he works over the injured arm of Shibata in the ring.

Bushi tags in and he starts choking Shibata with his shirt, Shibata tries fighting back and Bushi continues working over his hurt arm. Shibata eventually makes the tag to Makabe and Makabe cleans house on the opposition, Makabe mounts Bushi in the corner before assaulting him with punches. Bushi cheats by getting the referee in front of Makabe to nail him with an inzaguri, Makabe recovers until a cheating Nato allows Bushi to take out the distracted Makabe. Sanada tags in and Makabe quickly drops him with a clothesline, Tanahashi tags back in and he attacks Sanada with a bunch of European uppercuts. Sanada tries fighting back and he eventually catches Tanahashi with a TKO for a near fall, another brawl breaks out on the arena floor as Tanahashi and Sanada battle in the ring.

Tanahashi hits Sanada with a dragon screw leg whip and Sanada quickly recovers to hit him with the same maneuver. Homna tags in and he attacks all the members of the opposition before nailing Naito with a falling headbutt, Homna then hits a cornered Naito with a running clothesline. Naito recovers to hit Homna with an enzuguri that is followed by a slingshot drop kick, Homna gets revenge by cracking Naito with a DDT. Homna goes to the top rope and Evil interferes by knocking him off the ropes, Naito then gets a few near falls on Homna. The brawl continues on the arena floor between members of both teams, Homna lays out Naito with a clothesline from out of nowhere. Bushi interferes by spraying mist into the eyes of Homna, Evil nails Homna with a clothesline before Naito rolls him up for the three count.

Winners: Los Ingobernables (Tetsuya Naito, Bushi, Evil & Sanada)

After the match, Los Ingbernables help Evil inflict further damage on Shibata.

NJPW 2016 Junior Tag Team Tournament Semi-Finals: Fuego & Ryusuke Taguchi vs. RPG Vice (Trent Berretta & Rocky Romero)

The action starts off with Romero working over the arm of Fuego, Fuego breaks free and he nails Romero with a flying forearm strike. Berretta tags in and Taguchi does the same with his partner, Berretta quickly attacks Taguchi with a few kicks and chops. Taguchi recovers and he drops Berretta with a hip attack to the face, Romero tries interfering and Taguchi attacks both members of RPG Vice with hip attacks. Berretta counters a hip attack from Taguchi with an atomic drop, Berretta then clotheslines Taguchi over the ropes and onto the arena floor. A brawl breaks out on the arena floor before all four competitors, Berretta brings Taguchi back into the ring to get the near fall.

Romero tags in and he attacks Taguchi with a few stomps as well, Berretta tags back in and he works with Romero to hit Taguchi with a lifted running knee strike. Taguchi counters a Dude Buster attempt from Berretta with a roll up, Berretta regains control by nailing Taguchi with a few chops. Romero tags back in again and he works over Taguchi in the corner, Taguchi finally drops Romero after hitting him with an inzaguri. Fuego gets the tag and he nails Romero with a few springboard strikes, Fuego then hits Romero with a top rope missile drop kick. Berretta hits the ring and Fuego knocks him and Romero to the arena floor, Fuego then hits both RPG Vice with a suicide dive. Fuego brings Romero into the ring to score a two count pin attempt, Fuego and Romero get into a striking exchange in the middle of the ring.

Fuego drops Romero before hitting him with a springboard splash for a near fall, Taguchi returns to the ring to attack Romero with more hip attacks. Berretta returns and he catches a charging Taguchi with a knee strike to the face, Romero gets angry at Berretta before nailing both opponents with some running clotheslines. Taguchi recovers first and he nails Romero with a bunch of hip attacks in the corner, Romero then catches Taguchi with a roll up for another near fall. Berretta returns to the match and he nails Taguchi with a tornado DDT, Berretta then knocks Fuego out of the ring before catching both opponents with a suicide dive. Berretta gets the official tag and he misses a double stomp on Taguchi, Taguchi briefly applies the modified ankle lock on Berretta.

Tacguchi goes to the top rope and Berretta meets him up there to catch him with a double under hook superplex, Taguchi recovers and he locks Berretta in another ankle lock. Berretta counters the ankle lock with a roll up for the near fall, Taguchi catches Berretta with a double under hook face buster for another near fall. Fuego gets back in the ring and he puts Berretta on the top rope to hit him with a hurricarana, Fuego nails Berretta with a splash to get a two count. Romero gets back in the ring so he and Berretta can hit Fuego with a double knee strike, Taguchi grabs Romero and he eats a boot to the face. RPG Vice hit Fuego with the double stomp into a Dude Buster for the three count.

Winners: RPG Vice (Trent Berretta & Rocky Romero)

NJPW 2016 Junior Tag Team Tournament Semi-Finals: David Finlay & Ricochet vs. ACH & Taiji Ishimori

The main event begins with Ishimori holding Finlay in a headlock, Finlay then hits a charging Ishimori with a drop kick to the face. Finlay goes to the top rope and Ishimori knocks him off to the arena floor, Ishimori follows Finlay out of the ring before smashing his face on the ring apron. Ishimori brings Finlay back into the ring before tagging ACH in, Ishimori and ACH nail Finlay with a series of kicks for the near fall. ACH continues to pick up Finlay and then drop him with chops, Finlay tries fighting back and ACH nails him with a drop kick. Ishimori tags back in and he chokes a downed Finlay in the corner, Ishimori also attacks Finlay with a few more chops. Ishimori places Finlay in the corner to hit him with a running double knee strike, Ishimori follows that up with a middle rope code breaker for the near fall on Finlay.

Ishimori traps Finlay in the corner again before attacking him with more chops, Finlay is finally able to drop Ishimori with a middle rope missile drop kick. Ricochet tags in and he nails Ishimori with a reverse DDT, Ricochet then causes Ishimori to accidentally take out ACH and knock him to the arena floor. Ricochet then knocks Ishimori to the arena floor before nailing both opponents with a suicide dive, Ricochet brings Ishimori into the ring for the near fall. Ricochet and Ishimori go through a series on reversals that ends with Ricochet nails Ishimori with a modified side effect, Ishimori recovers and he drops Ricochet with a low drop kick. Ishimori eventually catches Ricochet with a reverse huracanrana after another series of reversals, Finlay and ACH get tags from their respective partners.

ACH quickly knocks Finlay out of the ring before nailing him with a suicide dive, ACH brings Finlay back in the ring to nail him with a discus clothesline. ACH then hits a swinging Finlay with a plethora of strikes, Finlay recovers by dropping ACH with a clothesline of his own. Finlay and Ricochet double team ACH with a series of holds in the corner to get a near fall, Ricochet nails ACH with an enziguri. Finlay then launches ACH into a lung blower from Ricochet for the near fall, ACH counters Novocain by hitting Ricochet with an enziguri. Ishimori hits Ricochet with another enzugiri and that allows ACH to hit him with a slingshot ace crusher for a near fall, ACH and Ishimori then decides to double team Ricochet in the corner.

ACH and Ishimori catch a downed Ricochet with stereo baseball slide kicks for the near fall, Ishimori tags in and he eats a series of kicks from Ricochet. Finlay gets the tag after that and he immediately knocks ACH to the arena floor, Ricochet interferes and he nails a charging Ishimori with a springboard clothesline. Finlay then hits Ishimori with a modified back breaker for the near fall, Ishimori recovers and he hits Finlay with a super kick. ACH interferes and he takes out Ricochet before Finlay nails him with a spear, Finlay starts hitting Ishimori with a series of European uppercuts. ACH comes back to kick Finlay in the head before Ishimori nails him with a sliced bread for a two count, ACH and Ishimori plant both opponents in opposite corner before nailing them with 450 splashes for the three count.

Winners: ACH & Taiji Ishimori

After the match, Rocky Romero and Trent Berretta hit the ring to tell ACH and Taiji Ishimori that when they meet in the finals, it will be RPG Vice walking away the winners as they represent NJPW against pro Wrestling NOAH.
