Owens/Reigns Plans Changed For Raw This Past Monday

On the November 28 episode of Monday Night Raw, United States Champ Roman Reigns beat Universal Champ Kevin Owens, clean as a sheet in the middle of the ring via pinfall after a Spear. In the process, he gained a Universal Title Shot at WWE Roadblock: End of the Line. But this wasn't always the plan for that match's stipulation.

Over the past few weeks, Owens and Reigns have been working matches with Roman's US Title on the line, with Reigns successfully defending it each time. Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio that the same stipulation and result was planned for this past Monday Night on Raw. That idea was changed late Monday to a singles match between Owens and Reigns with the stipulation of the Roadblock: End of the Line Universal Title Shot.

Originally the live event matches were supposed to be title vs. title, however Stephanie McMahon ruled that only Reigns' U.S. title would be on the line.
