Ralek Gracie Talks About MMA Return

MMA

Ralek Gracie hasn’t competed in MMA for many years now, but he returns to action at Bellator 170 to fight Hisaki Kato. Gracie isn’t returning to MMA for anything else other than for his family.

“It seems very obvious to me,” Gracie told MMA Junkie. “I’m just doing what my family has been doing for generations. I’m not coming from anywhere, and I never wanted to stop in the first place. It’s obvious to me, but not necessarily the world.”

Gracie also wants to focus on himself when he enters the cage, not his recent financial issues tied to the Metamoris promotion. Gracie has had trouble paying competitors for the company.

“Being able to zone in yourself and your preparation, it’s one of the most spiritual things you can do is prepare for a fight,” Gracie said. “You’re preparing yourself for war. For me, it’s about coming back to my roots, and coming to terms with myself.”

Gracie will also be entering the cage with an undefeated record of 3-0-0, with all three of his wins coming in Japan, this fight will be his North American MMA debut.

Bellator 170 takes place on Saturday, January 21 from The Forum in Inglewood, California with Tito Ortiz and Chael Sonnen headlining.
