It looks like Shelton Benjamin will return to WWE after all.

According to PWInsider, Benjamin has signed a deal to officially return to the company where he was a former Intercontinental champion.

Benjamin was slated to return to WWE last year and be a part of SmackDown Live. WWE's blue brand even aired vignettes hyping his return to the company. Unfortunately for Benjamin, it was revealed during medical testing that he had a torn rotator cuff and so WWE stopped running the vignettes and Benjamin's deal fell through. Benjamin had surgery to repair the torn rotator cuff.

There were conflicting reports for about a month now on whether or not Benjamin has signed back with WWE. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported around mid-July that Benjamin hadn't signed back with WWE yet, but Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet confirmed at the time that Benjamin did sign back with the company.

During his first run with WWE, Benjamin won the Intercontinental, United States and WWE Tag Team titles with Charlie Haas as one-half of World's Greatest Tag Team. The duo were under the tutelage of current Raw general manager Kurt Angle. Benjamin signed with WWE in 2000 on a developmental deal and stayed with the company until being released in 2010.

Since his release in 2010, Benjamin wrestled all over the world, competing for promotions such as Ring of Honor, New Japan Pro Wrestling and Pro Wrestling Noah.

According to the report, there is still no timetable for Benjamin's return to television or what brand he will be assigned to, but that he will be appearing "soon."
