Report: Ronda Rousey Offered Title Shot

MMA

Ronda Rousey has been off the MMA radar for the majority of 2016, but that may not be the case any longer, according to UFC President Dana White.

White was recently interviewed by Esporte Espetacular about the former women’s bantamweight champion and her potential return to the octagon.

Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler Officially Announced For UFC 303, Will Take Place At Welterweight

“Yes, there’s a big chance that Ronda Rousey will fight Amanda Nunes and I’m very confident that Ronda will probably fight before the end of the year,” said White.

Although the UFC President did not name an official date or event from the fight, a report on Fox Sports 1 by Megan Olivi said that if Rousey were to accept the fight, it would most likely be happening at UFC 207 this December.

Rousey has not competed since being the victim of a head kick knockout by Holly Holm at UFC 193 in November 2015, Rousey lost her women’s bantamweight title with that loss. Nunes would be making the first defense of her championship. Which she won by submitting Miesha Tate via rear naked choke at UFC 200.

There have also been rumors circulating that UFC Ultimate Fighter 18 champion Julianna Pena and Valentina Shevchecnko were in the running for title shots, but much like the Rousey situation, it is all speculation at this moment in time.

UFC 207 will be taking place on Saturday, December 30th from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced as of this writing.
