After being away from the sport for over a year, former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey will try to reclaim the gold when she faces current champion Amanda Nunes in the main event of UFC 207. Rousey is claiming that the champion will gas out by the second round of their fight.
"Yeah, well she kind of has to say that, because everyone knows she gasses out in the second," Rousey said on Conan. "So she has to tell herself that, ‘It's gonna happen first round.' What else is she gonna tell herself?"
Rousey hasn’t been in the public eye much since being knocked out by a head kick from Holly Holm at UFC 193 last November, but Rousey says that her perception of the women’s bantamweight division and her public life has changed since she last held the gold.
"I don't really have to (be the face of the division)," Rousey said. "I've done a lot of learning in this last year and I've learned that the views I get or the money I make really doesn't mean anything for me or my happiness. Now that I know the women's division is secure, I don't have to do that anymore. I choose not to. It's not really something that I get a kick off of. Like, ‘Ooh, I went to spend 12 hours at ESPN and talk sh*t all day.' That's not really what I want to do. I want to play World of Warcraft."
UFC 207 takes place on Friday, December 30 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Amanda Nunes and Ronda Rousey headlining.
