Rusev Wasn't On SmackDown As Promised Tonight, But He Had A Good Excuse

A few weeks ago, as you can see above, Rusev demanded a WWE Title match at Money In The Bank on June 18.

Last week, Rusev, citing the fact that he had gotten no response from Shane McMahon said that he would be coming to SmackDown to get an answer in person the following week.

Undertaker Would've Liked To Wrestle Stone Cold Steve Austin, Jokes The Streak Would've Ended Sooner

That was supposed to be this week.

Tonight, even.

But then, of course, he wasn't on the show.

We all wondered where he was. Did somebody really have the balls to bump the Bulgarian Brute?

Nope. He was just catching the hockey game.

Yes, Rusev's (adopted) hometown team, the Nashville Predators had a match against the Anaheim Ducks in the Western Conference finals, which they won by a score of 2-1.

And apparently, Rusev was there to cheer them on.

He attends their games often:

That's a post from May 2, but it's obviously an old photo, as his haircut was from his pre-Handsome Rusev phase.

So I guess we'll just have to take him at his word that he was in Nashville and couldn't be at SmackDown in Manchester, New Hampshire, tonight.

Maybe Rusev will make an appearance at Backlash on Sunday.

Of course, the Predators have a game that night, in Anaheim, so who knows.

I mean, Rusev is a busy guy. Lots of things to do, people to see, hockey games to attend. He did say he'd see when he sees us, after all.
