Sacramento Kings Owners Make Huge Bet On McGregor vs. Mayweather

Gavin and Joe Maloof may not be known much in combat sports circle, but they are the owners of the NBA’s Sacramento Kings.

When it comes to the upcoming super fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather, the brothers bet an astounding $880,000 on Mayweather winning the super fight. The brothers will donate the winnings from the fight to charity, although what charities could receive the money have yet to be announced.

“So I called my brother, Joe, and said, 'We should put a wager on Floyd, because I don't think he's going to lose,'" Gavin said to ABC News. "Not to take anything away from Conor. He's good. But I just like Floyd a lot."

Mayweather is a huge favorite in the fight, which has to be expected since the UFC Lightweight Champion is making his professional boxing debut.

No matter who walks away victorious in the end, one half of the brother tandem says it should be a great event for everybody.

"It should be a great event for everybody," Gavin Maloof said. "We'll be able to do a lot of good things."

Conor McGregor versus Floyd Mayweather takes place on Saturday, August 26 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
