Sheamus On Braids And Beads In His Beard: "My Love Life Went Down The Tubes"

Sheamus says the ladies did not like his braided beard.

Over the last couple years, Sheamus' appearance has been evolving. He came back in 2015 with a different attitude along with braids and beads in his beard, then his look continued to change as he became tag-team partners with Cesaro. On a recent episode of Talk is Jericho, Sheamus expressed his feelings about the different looks he has had.

"That was a drastic change," said Sheamus. "Before I left the first time, people were sick and I was sick of babyface Sheamus. I was more of a bully as a baby face than I was as a heel. I came back with the drastic hair and the beads. Love life went down the tube for about a year and a half. I knew what I had to do, it was the whole point. I sacrificed that to do the character. It was great," he continued.

After returning with the beads, Sheamus was a member of The League of Nations. Upon the dissolving of that stable and the 2016 WWE Draft, Sheamus moved onto a feud with Cesaro. The two went on to have a brutal series of matches and then became two-time tag-team champions together.

At Wrestlemania 33, Sheamus and Cesaro took part in the tag-team championship ladder match. Sheamus said their look for the event came together quickly in the midst of rapid changes to the card.

"Eventually the beads came out. Then we started to see the proper beard and we started going into mania we evolved the looks...We had an idea, then we found out were going to be in the Andre the Giant Battle Royale. Then it switched again. We talked to writers and they're like 'no you're in the tag-team ladder match,'" said Sheamus. "I had the idea for the kilts, (Cesaro's) suit jackets. Honestly, I don't think anyone looked better than we did," he added.

Sheamus and Cesaro are the current holders of Raw's tag-team championships. They just defended their championships against Matt and Jeff Hardy in an iron man match.
