Stevie Ray Wishes He Got KO At UFC Fight Night 108

Lightweight competitor Stevie Ray picked up his fifth UFC victory when he defeated Joe Lauzon by decision at UFC Fight Night 108.

Although he’s happy with the win, the victorious Ray wishes he got the knock out over the longtime UFC fighter.

“To be honest, I didn’t realize how tired he was until I started putting it on him,” Ray said on MMA Junkie Radio. “And then I’m like, ‘He is really gassed.’ And I felt like I could go another few rounds. But, yeah, even watching it back I should’ve knocked him out and packed in more shots. … I think if there was a little bit longer, the referee totally would’ve stopped it.”

The decision win considered a little controversial by many due to the beating that Ray got from Lauzon in the first round, as many scored the round 10-8 in favor of Lauzon.

Ray did do enough in the judges' eyes to win the fight, but Ray also wishes that Lauzon would’ve thrown back some strikes of his own in the third.

“That was one of those fights that just brought it,” Ray said. “I felt like I had to put (on a show) for the fans. What would’ve made it more exciting is if he was actually throwing back (in the third round). But he was just kind of covering up and taking it.”

With a fifth UFC win under his belt, the next opportunity Ray would like is to headline the upcoming UFC Fight Night 113 card.
