The One Championships Lightweight Title will be defended at One Championships 54 as Eduard Folayang defends the gold against Ev Ting.
Folayang (17-5-0) will be making the first defense of his championship, which he won by defeating Shinya Aoki by third round TKO at One Championships: Defending Honor. Folayang will be entering the fight on a three fight winning streak, with the other wins coming over Adrian Pang and Tetsuya Yamada. Folayang competed at the very first One Championships event back in 2011 and he defeated A-Sol Kwan by unanimous decision.
Ting (13-3-0) will be entering the strength of a four fight winning streak and that includes a win over UFC veteran Kamal Shalorus. Ting also holds a 56 second submission victory over former One Championships Featherweight Champion Honorio Banario, which took place at One Championships 22. Prior to signing with One Championships in 2014. Ting also defeated UFC veteran Will Chope by knockout at a Merciless MMA event.
One Championships 54 takes place on Friday, April 21 from the Mall Of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines with Eduard Folayang and Ev Ting headlining. The main card will be airing live on internet pay-per-view in North America. No other fights have been announced for the card at this time.
