Two New Championships Debuting On Smackdown Tonight

After much speculation, it's confirmed that Smackdown will add two new titles tonight.

Daniel Bryan confirmed on Twitter that they'll be adding two new titles on Smackdown this evening. Both the Women's division and the tag team division currently don't have titles.

Bryan spoke on a recent episode of Talking Smack about the plans to create Smackdown-exclusive titles.

We don’t want to be like Raw,” said Bryan, “… the day after … like ‘we need to have a World Title, so we’re gonna call it the Universal Title! The Galaxy Title! These guys are gonna be the Milky Way Tag Team Champions!’”  Inside his good-natured jesting, though, Bryan seemed to imply that there will be, in fact, new championships of some form at some point, but that SmackDown is going to be careful about how those titles will be introduced for one very important reason, namely the prominence of the prize itself. We are trying to formulate a good way to bring in the [new] titles,” Bryan continued, “and give people the opportunity to take these titles and prove they are they are the best team on SmackDown.”
