World of Sport has been forced to postpone its planned set of TV tapings, which were slated to take place at the end of May.
PWInsider broke the story about the delays, reporting that the issue was a logistical scheduling problem, rather than a financial issue or a lack of ticket sales.
PWInsider also noted that World of Sport should make an official announcement about the re-scheduling of the taping next week.
A significant part of the wrestling world throughout the 1970s and 1980s, World of Sport enjoyed a revival last year, filming a pilot episode that aired on New Year's Day. Jim Ross provided commentary for the pilot but, when Ross signed a new part-time contract with WWE, he said he would not be able to continue in that role due to all his various commitments.
The tapings originally were scheduled for May 25 and 26, with the content to air on a 10-episode run on ITV, which is one of the largest networks in the United Kingdom.
The upcoming 10-episode series is being produced as a joint effort with Jeff Jarrett and Impact Wrestling.
Impact also has formed working relationships with Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan and AAA and The Crash in Mexico since Jarrett returned to the company he co-founded.
The revival of the WoS brand has caused ramifications throughout the wrestling world. Most notably, it led WWE to offer uniquely structured contracts to a host of talents based in the United Kingdom that would allow those wrestlers to continue to work independent shows in the UK, as long as those dates were approved by WWE.
