Brett Michael David is very glad that Alpha-1 Wrestling is back.
On February 4, 2024, Alpha-1 Wrestling will return from hiatus and hold their first event since August 2021. The card for the event is stacked and is set to feature the likes of Rickey Shane Page, Daniel Garcia, Alec Price, and Ortiz.
While speaking to Fightful Overbooked's Indied podcast for a new interview, Brett Michael David, who was a regular for the promotion before the hiatus, talked about the company's return and why it's important.
“In my opinion, it’s so important. It’s one of those shows that would always bring people in. Ethan Page would be so good at bringing in guys and girls that were big from the states, or sometimes people that you haven’t even heard of that you should know. He would be one of the first promotions that was bringing them into Canada because it’s hard to logistically plan shows and bring people from overseas and bring people from different countries and things like that. He was one of the guys that was doing this on a regular basis. That Hamilton crowd, there’s nothing like wrestling in Hamilton. It’s awesome, they’re like no other. They’re so fun. They get nuts, they’re super into it, they’re knowledgeable. It is such a good show, it’s such a tightly run show. They’re like two and a half hours tops, so you don’t even have a second to remotely get tired or anything like that. The show goes quick, it’s done, it’s amazing. Booked some of the best talent in the world, and also on the flip of that, you get your local guys like myself who get to work with some of these people that you don’t normally get the chance to. It’s booked so well in my opinion, to help push the talent locally as well as bring new eyes to talent internationally that otherwise might not have been seen by some of us in Canada. I think the return of Alpha-1 is so, so important because I think it’s one of the best independent shows going anywhere, not just Canada. Because of the status of the people that are brought in, and Ethan Page, the people will tune in from all over the place too. It’s just a showcase for Canadian talent and a massive platform that people are excited to come back.”
