Damian Priest: Hanging With R-Truth Was Comical And Fun, But Judgment Day Lost Focus

Judgment Day is getting back on track.

When R-Truth returned to WWE television at Survivor Series 2023, he quickly inundated himself with The Judgment Day. R-Truth brought some levity to the group, making them t-shirts and bringing them gifts in attempt to win them over.

While it worked for a bit, Damian Priest eventually got fed up with his antics and kicked him out of the group for good.

"I think Damian has a lot more to say about R-Truth than I do. I’m kind of lukewarm on Truth. It seems to me that there is a lot more tension with Damian and Truth," Finn Balor told Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp when asked what it was like dealing with Truth.

Priest stated, "There is no hanging out with Truth. While it was comical and fun for a split second, I think we lost Judgment Day focus. That’s why we had to make that right. We had to make things right for us because as the Faction of the Year, we have a bar to set. We couldn’t lose focus and now we are where we need to be. We’re about to make history at WrestleMania. That’s Judgment Day business right there."

Judgment Day (Priest, Balor, Rhea Ripley, & Dominik Mysterio) won Faction of the Year in the Fightful Awards. R-Truth accepted the award for them.

Judgment Day will defend their Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships in a six-pack ladder match at WrestleMania 40.

DIY (Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano), The New Day (Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston), The Awesome Truth (The Miz & R-Truth), Austin Theory & Grayson Waller, and New Catch Republic (Pete Dunne & Tyler Bate) will compete in the match.

Fightful will have coverage of WrestleMania 40 beginning at 7 p.m. ET on April 6.
