WWE Raw (4/22/24) Results: New Women's World Champion Crowned In Battle Royal, Gunther Returns, More

On Monday, April 22, 2024, WWE hosted a new episode of Monday Night Raw on the USA Network.

This week's episode of WWE Raw will feature a Battle Royal to determine a new women's world champion following the absence of Rhea Ripley due to injury. Additionally, #DIY (Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano) will challenge Awesome Truth (The Miz & R-Truth) for the World Tag Team Championship.

This week's episode will also feature the return of Gunther to WWE television after he lost the WWE Intercontinental Championship to Sami Zayn at WWE WrestleMania XL.

WWE Raw (4/22/24) Results

- Jey Uso came out and addressed the crowd in Columbus. He was quickly interrupted by Damian Priest. Priest and him talked about their history together and how they both have hung out and shared drinks with one another saying that they would be next. Priest says he's now and that Uso is going to be fed to him. Uso says he's only the leader of Judgment Day because Rhea Ripley got hurt. He also called Priest Dominik Mysterio's bitch. JD McDonagh tried to attack Uso from behind but he ducked and Superkicked Priest.

* World Tag Team Championship: Awesome Truth (The Miz & R-Truth) def. #DIY (Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano)

- Backstage Dominik Mysterio reveals that he's hurt and can't compete tonight but Santos Escobar will take his place. Priest tells Dominic and McDonagh to handle their business

- Gunther comes out with Imperium and lets it be known that he wants to be the next King of the Ring. New Day comes out and Xavier Woods says he's the defending King and wants to be a two-time King. King this sets up a tag match between New Day and Imperium

* New Day (Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston) def. Imperium (Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci)

- Gunther is really pissed that they lost and Kaiser turns on Vinci leading to Gunther nodding in approval backstage.

- Drew McIntyre comes out to complain about WrestleMania and CM Punk again. He's interrupted by Sheamus who wants to see his friend stop complaining. Drew makes fun of Sheamus' body and says that he was the only one to stand up for Sheamus last week when everyone else is making fun of him backstage because they're friends. Now Drew says he's going to watch his match.

* Sheamus def. Shinsuke Nakamura

- They air footage of Chad Gable turning heel on Sami Zayn last week. Cathy Kelley interviews Sami Zayn and says he's looking forward to seeing what Gable has to say for himself. Bronson Reed interrupts. Reed tells Zayn that he plans on being the next WWE Intercontinental Champion. Zayn says he'll defend it anytime anywhere. Zayn turns back to finish the interview and gets attacked by Bronson Reed.

- Chad Gable, in a suit, heads to the rings surrounded by Otis, Akira Tozawa, and Maxxine Dupri. The other members of the Alpha Academy are wearing their regular gear. Gable explains that he turned on Sami Zayn for stealing his moment and rubbing it in while he was celebrating with his wife. He calls Alpha Academy a bunch of freaking losers. He calls Tozawa a loser, he says Maxxine is dumb as a box of rocks, and says Otis has proven himself to be the biggest disappointment of them all.

- They will make the academy promise that they're all going to help him capture the WWE Intercontinental Championship and then leaves them in the ring standing there.

- Dominik Mysterio confronts Ricochet who says that he is sad Dom isn't cleared but he'll have to settle for beating Santos and JD. Dom is then confronted by Liv Morgan before the show cuts to a commercial.

- Nia Jax cuts a promo on the Battle Royal.

* Andrade & Ricochet def. Santos Escobar & JD McDonagh

- After the match, Damian Priest came out and laid out both Andrade and Ricochet before telling his Judgment Day cohorts that they need him and it's not the other way around.

- Just prior to the Battle Royal, Cathy Kelley is interviewing Indi Hartwell and Candice LeRae, who are discussing their change in attitude. That is interrupted by a backstage fracas between Nia Jax and Liv Morgan, who are being separated by security. Becky Lynch walks up and takes the mic from Cathy and cuts a promo on her way to the ring. During her promo, she spots Ivy Nile and Maxxine Dupri talking before the match and she tells Maxxine to prove to everyone why this won't be her last time challenging for a World Championship.

* Battle Royal to determine new Women's World Champion: Becky Lynch def. Liv Morgan, Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler, Zoey Stark, Chelsea Green, Piper Niven, Ivy Nile, Natalya, Kayden Carter, Katana Chance, Indi Hartwell, Candice LeRae, and Maxxine Dupri.
