Seth Rollins Becomes Two-Time Intercontinental Champion At WWE SummerSlam

A bloody Seth Rollins left the ring as Champion.

Despite Dolph Ziggler brazenly displaying the WWE Intercontinental Championship on his gear, he did not leave Brooklyn as Champion. He was defeated by the man who he took the title from Seth Rollins and now Rollins has began his second reign as Intercontinental Champion.

Details Behind Drew McIntyre's WWE Contract Talks

Drew McIntyre distracted Rollins during the match but Dean Ambrose was eventually able to take out McIntyre before Rollins finished off Ziggler. During the match, Rollins sustained a cut on his head and he was visibly bleeding.

The following is an excerpt of the Fightful Wrestling play-by-play provided by David Tees.

Rollins returns to the top rope to hit Ziggler with a reverse superplex followed by an inverted falcon arrow for a near fall. McIntyre throws Ambrose into the ring steps and the distraction allows Ziggler to hit Rollins with a Zig Zag for a near fall, Rollins avoids a super kick and he nails Ziggler with a buckle bomb. Ambrose battles McIntyre and nails him with a Dirty Deeds on the arena floor, Rollins then hits Ziggler with a super kick followed by the curb stomp for a three count.
