WWE Main Event Report For December 22: Tony Nese vs. Lince Dorado & Goldust In Action

Welcome to this edition of WWE Main Event, your broadcast team for this week are Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton and Austin Aries.

Goldust w/R-Truth vs. Curtis Axel

Karrion Kross: There's Something Much Bigger Going On Here Than What's Happening In The Ring

The action begins with Goldust dropping Axel with a shoulder tackle, Goldust then drops Axel with a few hip tosses before working over his arm. Axel then cracks Goldust with a knee to the midsection thats followed by a kick to the midsection, Goldust catches a charging Axel with another hip toss and Axel retreats to the arena floor. Axel gets to the ring apron and he nails Goldust before throwing him into the turnbuckle, Axel drops Goldust before getting a near fall. Axel then wrenches on the arm of Goldust to wear him down further, Axel releases the hold before nailing Goldust with a drop kick.

Axel follows that up by nailing Goldust in the spine with a knee drop, Goldust starts fighting back and Axel rams Goldust in the corner before mauling him with strikes. Axel takes Goldust down again before wrenching on his arm once again, Goldust fights back again and he causes Axel to miss a drop kick. Goldust then cracks Axel with a spine buster before dropping him with a few clotheslines, Goldust punches Axel before nailing him with a bulldog. Goldust mounts Axel in the corner before assaulting him with punches, Goldust then hits Axel with a power slam for a near fall. Axel escapes the Final Cut before going for the Son Of Perfectplex, Goldust escapes that and hits him with the Final Cut to get the three count.

Winner: Goldust w/R-Truth

Our first Raw Flashback of the show takes us back to a confrontation between Cesaro/Sheamus, The New Day, The Club and The Shining Stars, which would lead to match where The New day, Cesaro & Sheamus would defeat The Club & The Shining Stars.

The next Raw Flashback would see Bayley defeat WWE Raw Women’s Champion Cahrlotte Flair in a non-title match.

Tony Nese vs. Lince Dorado

This match begins with Dorado attempting a few flips to mess with Nese, Nese pretends to go for a handshake with Dorado and he takes him down instead. Dorado recovers by hitting Nese with a small package for a near fall, Dorado then takes Nese down with a hurricarana and a drop kick. Nese places Dorado on the top rope and Dorado rolls off before scoring a few hip toss takedowns on Nese, Dorado starts wrenching on the arm of Nese. Dorado catches Nese with more arm drags as he continues working on the arm of Nese, Dorado also starts attacking Nese with a few kicks to his legs. Nese recovers and he nails Dorado with an elevated back breaker as we go to a commercial break.

We return from the break and Nese nails Dorado with a few hard Irish whips into the turnbuckles for a few near falls, Dorado tries fighting back and Nese kicks him in the head. Nese slows things down a little more by applying a bear hug to Dorado, Dorado recovers and he knocks Nese out of the ring with a hurricarana. Dorado prepares for a dive and Nese nails him with a clothesline for a near fall, Nese mounts Dorado after that to assault him with punches. Nese wraps Dorado in the body scissors to slow things down again, Dorado starts fighting back again and he nails Nese with a leaping knee strike followed by chops. Dorado then knocks Nese out of the ring with a springboard ace crusher, Dorado then catches Nese with a suicide dive.

Dorado throws Nese back into the ring before going to the top rope, Dorado then catches Nese with a high cross body for near fall. Dorado goes for a super kick and Nese counters, Dorado then hits Nese with a spinning heel kick before going back to the top rope. Nese punches Dorado in the face and he throws him off the top rope, Nese goes up to the top rope and Dorado nails him with the enzaguri. Dorado goes back up and Nese knocks him off the ropes, Nese hits Dorado with a 450 splash to get the three count.

Winner: Tony Nese

Our final Raw Flashback shows Raw GM Mick Foley telling Chris Jericho that he will be suspended in a shark cage when Kevin Owens faces Roman Reigns at the WWE Royal Rumble. After that, we see Braun Strowman interfere in a tag team match between Kevin Owens/Chris Jericho and Roman Reigns/Seth Rollins.
