WWE/NXT Live Event Reports, Jan. 6-9: Chris Hero Returns, Usos Work Face, Tommy End's New Name

Now that the holidays are in the rear-view mirror, all three WWE brands returned to the road.

NXT saw Chris Hero have his first matches inside a WWE ring since his surprise appearance at the conclusion of the most recent NXT television tapings. Hero, who is working under the Kassius Ohno name he had during his initial stint with WWE, faced Andrade Almas and . Tommy End also debuted a name change, now going by Aleister Blake.

John Cena remained on the road for the Smackdown brand, challenging AJ Styles for the WWE World Heavyweight Title in a series of triple threat matches also involving Baron Corbin. Also of note on the Smackdown shows, the Usos worked on the babyface side of a 12-man tag match.

On the Raw events, Big Show continued to involve himself, though he has yet to appear on TV aside from the one match against Seth Rollins a few weeks back. Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens continued their series of singles matches at the top of the card on all three events.
