It was a light week on the road for WWE.
Following the conclusion of a marathon tour of Europe by both the Raw and Smackdown rosters, Raw had the weekend off while Smackdown's itinerary was limited to a single house show the night after Backlash, which also featured the first match for Jinder Mahal since becoming WWE Champion.
Meanwhile, NXT had a pair of shows in the lead-up to Takeover: Chicago. The Highland Heights, KY, event was marked by an injury to Tomasso Ciampa, which we reported on mere moments after it happened. Ciampa ended up being able to perform at Takeover.
