Rumor killer on Ric Flair/Starrcast

It was mentioned today by Dave Meltzer that Ric Flair’s Starrcast announcement was held off until Charlotte Flair was added to the WrestleMania 35 main event for fear she’d be pulled otherwise. Conrad Thompson has since shut this rumor down, saying “This isn’t true. We’re announcing major names every day this week. We named the AEW names while they were trying to sell tickets. It’s sold out now so we’re announcing non AEW names. Not everything is a conspiracy.”

When I reached out to a number of WWE sources the first reply I was hit with a “….what?” followed by them saying that nothing that Starrcast does or books will affect the decision making as it pertains to WrestleMania — especially the main event. Most in WWE already assumed Flair would be there, since he’s Conrad Thompson’s (the event’s promoter) father in law.
