Abadon Recalls Favorite Matches From AEW Run, Names WWE’s Asuka As A Dream Match

Abadon’s first media appearance post-AEW.

For five years, Abadon worked with All Elite Wrestling. In May 2025, Abadon announced that AEW would not be renewing their contract and they would be heading into free agency.

K & S WrestleFest hosted a virtual signing with Abadon, and along the way, they were asked to name some of their favorite matches from the AEW run, and Abadon said the following:

“I always liked my Hardcore matches that I had (in AEW). I really enjoyed the one I had on Collision with (Hikaru) Shida, the Halloween match and then, my Halloween match as well with Athena. Athena’s somebody I’ve always wanted to wrestle so, being able to face her in a little bit longer of a storyline, it was worth it and a lot of fun.”

Elsewhere in the conversation, Abadon detailed the origins of their character.

“So, I’m super big into horror. Obviously, one of my favorite video games is Resident Evil. I have it tattooed on me and I just love zombies. They scared me a lot as a child. So, as I got older, I ended up having a fascination with the concepts of if a zombie could ever be real, and the Resident Evil movies came out and then I also am super big into heavy metal music or alternative music and fashion, and I love Visual kei, which is a form of Japanese fashion and J-rock is also a form of music from there, and I just take inspiration from things I heavily love. I’m not good at being a character in a sense of I couldn’t do something I didn’t like and so I was just like, ‘I’m gonna do me. Just turn it up to an 11.’”

As for Abadon now being a month and some change into free agency, they touched on potential matches that could be out there.

One of Abadon’s dream matches is against WWE’s Asuka, and they said the ideal stipulation for that is a Cage match.

“My dream match and why? Well, f*ck, that’s kind of hard. I mean, I really wanna wrestle Asuka at some point in my life. That’d be pretty cool. I’ve never had a Cage match so I really wanna have that at some point in my career. But Asuka is definitely up there… That would be pretty rad (to do a Cage match against Asuka). I’m not gonna lie… There are plenty, there’s so many but that’s probably the main.”

Abadon is in the midst of their sixth year as a wrestler. Back in June, they wrestled Maki Itoh for an independent promotion in Abadon’s hometown of Denver, Colorado.
