Naomi Wins WWE Women’s World Championship After Cashing In Money In The Bank Briefcase At WWE Evolution

Naomi shocked the world at WWE Evolution, cashing in her Money in the Bank briefcase during the WWE Women’s World Championship bout between IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley.

Both Ripley and SKY were down after a spanish fly off the top rope. Naomi’s music hit and she ran to the ring to officially cash in her briefcase.

She hit SKY with the briefcase, tossed Ripley into the ring post and to the out, and then connected with the split-legged moonsault on SKY for the victory.

During the bout, referee Jessica Carr was accidentally hit with a top rope drop kick by SKY. Ripley hit the Riptide on SKY, but there was no referee to count the fall.

With Carr down, the fight between SKY and Ripley spilled into the crowd. They battled near production equipment with IYO jumping off production boxes and onto Ripley, who was on the arena floor.

Naomi is now a three-time WWE Women’s World Champion. SKY’s reing ends at 133 days. She made two successful title defenses.

The bout between Ripley and SKY was made official on the June 30th episode of WWE Raw when SKY got to pick her opponent for the event. Naomi won the Money in the Bank briefcase at WWE Money in the Bank.

Coming into the match, IYO was 3-0-2 in televised singles matches against Ripley. They first met in the semifinals of the 2018 Mae Young Classic with SKY winning.

Naomi lost to Jade Cargill in a No Holds Barred match earlier in the night.
