WWE and Pro Wrestling NOAH have established a working relationship over the years, with the two promotions exchanging talent. Executive Vice President of CyberFight, the parent company of NOAH, Naomichi Marufuji has appeared on NXT TV and met with Shawn Michaels in the past.

Talent exchange between the two promotions has seen Omos join NOAH to win the GHC Tag Team Championships, and Josh Briggs and Tavion Heights compete in the NOAH N-1 Victory tournament. NXT has welcomed Yoshiki Inamura, who challenged Oba Femi for the NXT Championship at NXT Great American Bash.
Naomichi Marufuji was part of the NXT before Great American Bash, wishing Inamura luck ahead of his title bout.
Inamura and Briggs will compete in a triple threat match against Femi for the NXT Title on the July 22nd episode.
