MVP Recalls Telling Bobby Lashley Not To Re-Sign With WWE: ‘Let’s Get Shelton & Go Across The Street’ To AEW

MVP said their story was not finished.

AEW is doing a residency in Chicago, Illinois, at the Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom. The company is going to be taping Dynamite and Collision at the venue for the next three weeks.

To promote the string of shows in the city, Kyle Williams of the Chicago Sun-Times interviewed The Hurt Syndicate’s MVP. Speaking about the road that led to The Hurt Syndicate forming in All Elite Wrestling, MVP recounted being in catering with Bobby Lashley in WWE after Shelton Benjamin was released. MVP told Lashley not to ink a new deal, and they should link back up with Benjamin and head over to AEW.

“I was sitting next to Bobby in catering and said, ‘We got to get out of here.’ (He told Lashley), ‘Don’t re-sign. Let’s get Shelton and go across the street (to AEW). Our story is not finished.’”

Lashley and Benjamin are the reigning AEW World Tag Team Champions. They successfully defended their titles at All In Texas in a three-way tag bout.
