Rikishi Reacts To Goldberg’s Retirement Speech Being Cut From Live Feed: “I’d Just Say, Thank You For Coming Out… Then Pull Out The Check”
Rikishi reacts to Goldberg’s comments.
After Goldberg fell in defeat to GUNTHER in his retirement match at Saturday Night’s Main Event, he was joined in the ring by his family and close friends.
Only a small portion of Goldberg’s speech aired on the NBC and Peacock live feeds. The full speech was later uploaded to WWE’s digital and social platforms. Goldberg then took to The Ariel Helwani Show to air some of his grievances about how his retirement match played out, in addition to the feed being cut while he was giving his speech.
Weighing in on the speech portion of Goldberg’s comments was Rikishi. He said the following on his OFF THE TOP podcast:
“It (my speech) wouldn’t even be that long. I’d just say, thank you for coming out. I’ll see you next time, and then pull out the check, two, three million dollars. That’s it. That’s what they got social media for. You can get on there and get on your own — there’s a thing called Stories Live, Facebook Live, Twitter Live. You can do all the time you want there. I mean, come on now, smarten up.”
Goldberg said he’d say more about his retirement match in the coming weeks.
