Drew McIntyre Thought He Might Miss WrestleMania XL With Busted Eardrum, Tore Up Training Room After Elimination Chamber 2024
Drew McIntyre recalls fearing he would miss WrestleMania XL due to injury.
Drew McIntyre looks back on fearing he would miss WrestleMania last year.
At the Elimination Chamber 2024 premium live event leading into WrestleMania XL, McIntyre would compete in an Elimination Chamber match to crown a number one contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship for WrestleMania. McIntyre would end up winning the match, but would come away from the match with a busted eardrum, something that put his WrestleMania match at risk.
While speaking to Logan Paul on the latest episode of IMPAULSIVE, McIntyre recalled tearing up a training room due to a fear he would be off WrestleMania XL due to injury.
“I was mildly annoyed. I don’t think this one reached the internet. Every time I get angry, it seems to make the internet. When I get angry, I get really angry. I’m pretty calm most of the time, even in my anger when I’m beating people up, I’m calm. When I flip, I really flip. I think I tore up the training room after that one because I was so upset. I thought I might miss WrestleMania. Won Elimination Chamber, going to fight for the title at Mania, everything is finally on track. Everything feels right. In my mind, I could be out. I ripped apart the training room and took Larry Heck, the trainer, to calm me down. I was so friggin angry.”
On social media in a new post, McIntyre took aim at one of he and Paul’s SummerSlam opponents, Jelly Roll. You can read more about that here.
