Rhea Ripley Doesn’t Think Her Story With Dominik Mysterio Was ‘Supposed To Be A Relationship Storyline’

Rhea Ripley doesn’t think her storyline with Dominik Mysterio was intended to be a relationship storyline.

In the lead up to WWE Clash At The Castle 2022, Dominik Mysterio was targeted by The Judgment Day and Rhea Ripley, eventually turning on his father Rey and Edge to join the faction. From then on until SummerSlam 2024, Ripley and Dominik were joined as a hip, later being referred to as a couple by other talent, commentators, fans and more. However, Ripley does not believe that was the original intention.

While speaking during episode one of WWE Unreal, Rhea spoke about working with Mysterio and Morgan, noting that while she and Liv had been feuding for what felt like an eternity, she also doesn’t feel like her story with Dominik was supposed to be a relationship storyline.

“So the story between me, Liv and Dom has actually been going for like an eternity. It feels like it. Liv and I, we have been feuding for, like, three years. It’s been a long time cause we started as a tag team and Dom and I, we kind of just like, we kinda got put into this storyline together, which I don’t think was supposed to be a relationship storyline, and then Liv Morgan decided to try and steal my family, which she accomplished. Dom turned on me and helped Liv beat me for the Women’s World Championship. It was a wild ride. Before that, she’d ruined my entire life at work.”

Later on in the episode, as her match with Liv was being covered further, Rhea likened the feud to ‘Groundhog Day’.

“I feel like I’ve been living Groundhog Day for, like, the past two and a half years. So now that this is the end, it’s kind of weird. It was just hard coming up with a different way to do it all. But we kind of, like, grabbed the ball and ran with it. Liv and I really just wanted to go off… with a bang.”
