Samoa Joe Jokes That The Walkaway Spot Gets Requested So Much That He Won’t Actually Do It
Samoa Joe and his walkaway spot has become the stuff of legend as Joe famously moves aside as a wrestler goes for a dive.
Joe has been using the spot for years and it has become a staple in the majority of his matches.
“It started out as a rib, and then guys started requesting it because they just liked it. I think it gets requested by people more that I won’t actually do it now [laughs]. Everyone has an idea on how to riff on it. It started as a rib, but now I guess it’s a thing,” Joe told Chris Jericho on Talk Is Jericho.
Joe praised Christopher Daniels for his sell on the spot, noting that he’s probably done it more to Daniels than anyone else.
Samoa Joe is currently off AEW television after being taken out by the Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, & Gabe Kidd) at AEW All In. He is still one-third of the AEW Trios Champions with Powerhouse Hobbs & Katsuyori Shibata.
