John Cena Gives Advice To WWE Tryout Attendees

John Cena speaks to the future of wrestling.
Over the past couple of days, WWE has been hosting talent tryouts in New Jersey ahead of WWE SummerSlam at Metlife Stadium. Attendees include independent wrestlers like Ben Bishop and Eli Knight as well as collegiate wrestlers like Jha’Quan Anderson and Jeffrey Jacome.
On Friday, WWE took to social media to share a video of John Cena giving some advice to the athletes. Cena was firm but honest, saying that they all need to be reliable, coachable, and interested in their job.
“You can be reliable, you can be coachable, and you can be fucking interested. Those three things, they better your existence here. You might not be on the WrestleMania poster, but you sure as hell have bettered your odds of being part of the event. But, if you are uninterested, uncoachable, and unreliable, this is the first and last time we talk. I want to wish you the best in the rest of your tryout, your journey doesn’t have to end here. The great thing about our business is there’s many ways to get to the top.”
